Junkyard comparability

Went to junkyard today. :)

 

There is a single overhead cam KA intact in a 240sx.

 

Interested in the motor and trans...these cars have LSD?

I drive a 1993 maxima se. (dohc)

 

There is a car there that looks identical but badged Infiniti.

 

Anyone have experience of what is the same between the two?

Nissan and infinity are pretty much the same thing.

 

Where is this 240sx at?

Infinity is a high end car by Nissan but under it's own badge. Toyota has Lexus, Honda has Acura. Power train will be very similar.

Turns out the reason the KA is there is because it blew up!

 

I went back and took a second look...I was like wait I know this car! He used to have magic marker tattoo art all over hood and pop up lights. Well hood is silver now but I noticed on 2nd trip the art on the headlights..

Basically, Infiniti I30 is a JDM High Option North American Maxima, and is the version sold in Japan as the Nissan equivalent. The base US Maxima isn't sold in Japan, not enough goodies. We get a stripped down version as our Maxima. By the way, the Infiniti J30 series is called "Maxima" in Japan.

1989-1994 Maxima which is sold in USA is model series J30, per the underhood tag.
