L20
I have been looking for a replacement motor for my 1979 Datsun 620 king cab. I have found somel Nissans in the 80's with L20... will it drop into my pickup ? Quote Link to comment
Jesse C.
1. Yes, all L20B's are the same 2. What are you selling? This is the for sale section 3. This should be in General Tech area. Just sayin! Quote Link to comment
HRH
You know what I can't believe? That no one has had the handle "L20" before this guy?! :P You're lucky you're new, I would have mentioned the tall and short block L20s and the extra model with the double balance shaft. :D But we're supposed to be nice to newbs. ggzilla
To be clear, L20 differs from L20B. The four-cylinder is 'L20B' and the six-cylinder is L20. But since they didn't sell the small 2-liter six here, well we know what you meant. If you go to a Nissan/Datsun car show, you might see an L20. It was the standard engine for the Z-car in Japan. HRH
Point of clarification, it's actually an L20A designation for the 2.0 liter 6 cylinder. ;) Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
When I see L20 I assume it's the 6 cylinder as it was built first in '67. (or so) The same displacement 4 cylinder (built about 8 years later) had to be designated as an L20- B to differentiate. Seeing as how the L20 was the only one of it's kind when built, it was never called an L20A . If it's called an L20A now it's only because of the L20B. Quote Link to comment
HRH
That would appear to be the case, but I'll still stand corrected. According to wikipedia (like that's accurate!) it was given the A after the 4 cylinder B designation came out. Quote Link to comment
