Bill,

The shifter doesn't have to be from a 210, any shifter from a "B" type transmission will fit the 210 transmission, it is just the bends in the lever may put the knob in a strange position especially if you put a P/U lever in a Z car.

Also invest in new shifter bushings too. Brass are better as the plastic ones can get pretty beat-up.

Thanks but those are hard to find too!

I have a couple of B210 shifters but they don't fit the 210 trans.

I have an FS5W60A out of a 210 and am using the shifter from my B210 4-Speed tranny just fine.

I used brass bushings for a Z-Shifter on it, just had to file down some of the cap area to allow enough clearance for the shifter to slot in.

Reviving this thread, I am not clear on which shifters fit what.

It seems you are saying a B210 shifter will also work in a 210?

I know a 4 speed trans shifter from a 210 will fit and work in the 5 speed also as I have done that.

So - what works where?

Does a 63 series shifter work in a 210 60 series trans?

Does a 56 series shifter work in a 60?

Too interesting.....

I test fit a B type shifter onto my 63A dogleg and it fit.

I compared the pin and bushings on all the B-210 and 210 4 and 5 speeds. The plastic bushings are all the same part number. The shifters themselves may be all different lengths and bends but the pin and bushings should be a good indication that they will fit... sort of.

The FS5W63A dogleg shift pin is identical to the 56A 4 speed pin.

The following have the same pin number but does not match the dogleg.

F4W60 4 speed in the B-210 and the 210

FS5W60L dogleg in the 210

FS5W60A in the 210
