jdmdime
Ok so Im currently building this sedan as my daily driver. I recently got a bunch of oics so I decided to make a build thread out of it. It all started few months back. I was supposed to pick up an is300 as a nice daily driver but me, being a datsun head, decided to buy another dime instead... When I got it it was an automatic with a sss l16 motor. Everything else was completely stock. Ohh and it had a blown head gasket. Me driving her home As soon as I got her home I slapped a set of enkei 92 I had laying around. Their 14x7. It looks like it had lowering springs too. (my parents wernt too happy about me bringing another old car home :) ) And this was the first day with the new car... The old oic in front of the local 711 Quote Link to comment
jdmdime
Then a week after I did the headgasket... 219 sss peanut head L16 with flat top pistons Quote Link to comment
jdmdime
The next day I was off to a dormula drift event in long beach. It made it with zero problems. Quote Link to comment
rusty12ver
Nice car! The enkei 92's set it off nice! Been after a set of those in 14x7's! Quote Link to comment
jdmdime
A week after I decided it was time to throw some sparks so I made these up. 280Zx struts shortened to use ae92 corolla kyb shocks with ground control 8k springs. Its stiff. Ohh and tein camber plates Yeah, bad oics... I finished them up around 9:30 pm... And off I was on the quest to slam Camber plates set all the way negative, coilovers all the way down. I was hoping for moar low up front but whatever. The next morning I decided to cut the rear springs. Rear coilovers will come later. These are the advan a3a off my 72 sedan. 14X6 As you can see, I cut the springs too much. The car was sitting on the rear control arms even with the bump stops removed... Quote Link to comment
jdmdime
A build thread cant be a build thread without a little blood At a local car meet I put the bump stops back on in the rear because it was way to harsh. This is how it sits now. 8K springs up front and on the rear bump stops in the rear. Its killing my back but you have to pay to play ;) Quote Link to comment
dennis
Looks good. I like the 92's the best. Quote Link to comment

jdmdime
Thanx for the compliments guys... Yeah the 92' s look good but i think the wheels I have now look the best... Its on konig rewinds now.. The mikunis sure did sound awesome but they were wayy overkill. I never got them tunned for my setup. Stay tuned for more pix tonight. I got at least 100 more to go. I feel that this dime got alot of upgrades so fast... Quote Link to comment
jdmdime
Shortly after that on my drive home from watching fast 5 at the theatre some guy in a 720 was messing with me on my way home so I decided to give him a go... He beat me by half a car. I was pretty proud of my untuned l16 and single point dizzy and bw auto tranny. His truck was stock. Z24 5 speed. So apparently when we were going at it my lower radiator hose blew out causing my car to overheat instantly blowing my headgasket once again. I limped it home and decided it was time for a swap. I rebuilt an l20b and decided to do a 5 speed swap as well. here is a pic of the block fresh out the machine shop Quote Link to comment

Alright so as my car was getting painted, I stumbled upon a for sale ad here on ratsun. It was for a fj20e. I always wanted a fj and I couldnt pass this up. I imediately posted my l20b setup here and on craigs and a few days later a fellow ratsuner picked it all up. so off I was to oceanside. To my surprise I was headed to the infamous ” classic datsun” shop. There was so much win all over the place. I was overwhelmed by so many race cars all in one shop. Awesome experiance... Les was a cool guy too.. Off to some pictures... You can actually see the fj behind the roadster if you zoom in... Quote Link to comment
