Welcome to the Forum. Congrats on your 620 purchase  What the F... is a 1jz? We would love to see PICS of your truck :D

1jz also known as 1jzgte, is from toyota. They are older Supra engines, I believe come off of either the mk3's years 90 to 93, or Soarers. Most mk4 Supras come with the 2jz, aka 2jzgte.:D Im a toyota guy at heart.:P

Welcome aboard!

And good luck with the swap. I doubt you'll ever find a write-up of a 1JZ swap into any Datsun, much less a 620.

Hope you can weld, that block/tranny is like 2 feet longer than the stock L-series motor.

But, good luck, and let's see some pics!

Hi everyone, I just recently bought myself a 620 with only 35k miles. I also just purchased a 1jz for my pick up. Is there anyone with any write ups or info about the swap.

Now go buy a camera.

Have fun with your swap.

Seeing your handle, you seem committed to it.

Welcome to Ratsun.

i hope you know how to weld :D

you're off to an alright start though, looks like its come out of an a70 supra? should already have a rear sump if so, and that R154 is nice also :D

you'll need a new trans tunnel to fit, likely a recess too to fit the engine (which will make removing the turbos even worse than the bad job it already is :( if theyre not steel wheeled you can expect to have to remove them at some point). itd be a little more ideal to recess the firewall rather than making a radiator fit all the way up against the grille but i spose it'll be front heavy anyway so no real loss either way

this is going to be a big job, the result is gunna be pretty skatey too if you havent guessed it already :D pretty sure ive seen a 720 in thailand with a 1J, a red one maybe. he was mates with a member here who posted photos of a meetup he had with a bunch of 520/620/720's. ill see if i can find it, might have been a 620 i cant remember now. frame wise theyre nearly identical though

I'm planning on lowering it. I'm waiting for the 300zx rear to come in. Its going to be a tough build but I plan on cutting into the firewall and moving it back a few inches. The main problem is the brake booster is in the way and I'm trying to fgure out where to relocate it. And I'm not sure what I'm going to do with the Radiator and intercooler. I'm having a Guy that builds 9 second falcons look at the truck to see what I can do.
