HowtoDougie
Hey guys, I figured I'd introduce myself since I'm new here. My name is Doug, I live in Lancaster, PA and I just bought my first truck. I've owned and daily driven a 1990 Nissan 240sx for 4 years now. I've even taken it to the track a few times. But the 240 is horrible in the winter time, and I'm getting tired of daily driving it because it's very stressful, haha. Anyway, I found a 1984 Nissan 720 4x4 for sale locally for $1200. I couldn't say no. The truck is pretty clean for what it is. Minimal rust, 60,xxx on the Z24 (143k on the chassis) Here's my 240sx. Anyway, I'm sure you only care about the truck, haha. Here she is, The Ugly Truckling. The previous owner painted it black and left the roof white; I'm not really sure why. I plan on re-painting it satin black with gloss black accents. I already bought a shackle lift for it, so after that I want to get some bigger tires and just freshen up the truck a little bit to make it a comfortable daily driver. Come winter time I plan on taking the KA out of the 240 and putting it into the 720 so I can get rid of the Z24, since, well, let's be honest, they're pretty beat, haha. Quote Link to comment

Grit
Good to see some other 720s in PA. I've only ever seen one in person besides my own, and it was from out of state. Quote Link to comment

Sealik
Doug, wasn't the honeycomb grill from '85 on? Nope....here's one of my 83's... And my unmolested '84 Quote Link to comment
Sealik
The only difference I have come across between the 83-85 4x4 grills....is the 1 emblem Quote Link to comment
HowtoDougie
Damn, really!? I keep seeing that grill everywhere and I've always wanted it. I guess I'll have to track it down eventually. Thanks for the welcome, guys! Much different from our shitty 240 forums where everyone is an asshole, haha. Quote Link to comment
HowtoDougie
It it okay if I turn this thread into my "build" thread? :) Anyway, today I changed the battery. I love having friends that work at Advanced Auto. I got a used Optima yellow top for $35. I have the same battery in my 240, and I absolutely love them. I hate dealing with shitty batteries. My buddy ran a few new grounds as well, and he'll be going back into it and running new wires to the terminals instead of those shitty old ones. He just has to figure out a way to get around the factory fusable links. I also changed the oil and ran some engine flush through it. The oil was only changed 1500 miles ago and it was black. :/ Then I found a friend that came with the truck. I named him Ralph. I really didn't like Ralph, so I sprayed him with some stuff so he left. While messing around with the head unit, I found out why my truck's underside is so damn clean. This made me really happy. :D And here's how you lift a truck when you don't have a jack that will go high enough for trucks, haha. I also own a vinyl plotter (if you ever need stickers, let me know) so I made some stickers for the truck. Quote Link to comment

H5WAGON
As far as the roof, School buses paint their roof's white to reflect the heat. Quote Link to comment
