jaime.g
Hey everyone, I'm excited to find this forum. I'm going to finally get around to putting money into my b210 which was given to me by my father, who bought it new in 76. It has a fresh engine rebuild that was done in 06 along with new clutch, but since it's been sitting since it has a developed fuel pump issue (along with a full tank of stale gas :| ). I hope to learn more about carbeurators wrenching on this thing. My first mods will hopefully be jdm bumpers front and rear. If anyone has any advice on which ones I need and where to find some of those for this model that would be awesome. Thanks for viewing, Jaime 1 Quote Link to comment

jaime.g
thanks for the welcome. after viewing this forum for all of one night, it has motivated me to get started on this car. so far i have drained the full tank of 6 year old gas and took the rusted tank to a radiator shop to see if they can save it. the guy said 80 bucks if it ends up working out. datsunfreak
I hope to learn more about carbeurators wrenching on this thing. Step #1. Throw that carb away and swap on a 1200 carb. I may have a good spare if you decide to go that way. Already has the proper jets in it too. ;) Quote Link to comment

jaime.g
Nice :D ,and welcome. Look's like original paint. That truck is to close to your car, givet garage love ... the original color was blue, I had it painted back in 2001 for about 140 bucks. For the price, the paint held up decently. I'm going to see if i can buff/wax it and see what happens. No garage love for the B or the T as my s13 hogs the garage at the moment. Quote Link to comment

ggzilla
You can buy the bumpers off eBay. Go to ebay.com.au. But I think you also will need the beaver panel for the rear. When you remove the USDM bumpers there will be a big hole in the rear of the car. And try to get the bumper brackets that match the non-US bumpers. Quote Link to comment
king bee66
jdm rear bumper for sale in colton CA http://www.salvage-cars-for-sale.info/salvage/for-sale-datsun-b210-1978-MTM1MTE4NjA Quote Link to comment
datsunfreak
But I think you also will need the beaver panel for the rear. Need is a strong word... ;) When you remove the USDM bumpers there will be a big hole in the rear of the car. Actually, there's two small-ish holes, from where the USDM bumper shocks/brackets mount. And the new bumper covers the top half of them. And try to get the bumper brackets that match the non-US bumpers. They won't do you much good. They won't bolt up to a USDM car. I was able to use them as sort of a pattern to make new ones though. So there's that. :P Here's what a JDM/AUDM bumper looks like on a USDM car: FWIW, there is a minor difference between the AUDM bumper and the JDM bumper. The AUDM bumper has a wiiiiide plate cut-out in it (which just happens to line up perfectly the with lower valence on a USDM car ;) ), and the JDM bumper has a small plate cut-out, just about the size of a US license plate. the JDM bumper makes for a cleaner install, but the AUDM bumper is cheaper and easier to get. datsunfreak
Heck, if you want to buy the bumpers and take a drive up here, I'll make some brackets for you? :P This is what the bumper with the smaller plate recess looks like: Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
OK, it must the B310 that needs the under-panels. Good deal. Can someone get these front and rear seats for me? I can pay now. http://www.salvage-cars-for-sale.info/salvage/for-sale-datsun-b210-1978-MTM1MTE4NjA Unfortunately it doesn't have JDM bumpers, it has B110 bumpers. Quote Link to comment

If someone does buy this to part out, I want most of the interior panels and carpet if possible (since ggzilla already called the nice seats), and maybe some other stuff. Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
If it has a 5-speed it would be worth buying just to part out. Quote Link to comment

jaime.g
so, I thought I may as well update this thread with the status of my car. I finally got the gas tank back from being cleaned out. I filled it up with about 3 gallons and at the moment I'm having trouble getting fuel to pump out from the fuel feed line. I'm trying to gather a second hand to see if there is any type of suction going on with the pump as I know my father had replaced it in attempt to fix it about 3 years or so ago.
