I know the Ford pinto shocks are shorter for the front of the 620's & bolt in with a little trimming of the lower rubber bushing & should fit the 521's also. The year car i believe is a 76-77........ If you plan on just lowering it 2-3 inches the stock shocks will work fine.

Dude

Go open up a box of a "Gas A Just" shock and compress it. Then youll find out how good they are and Is more really needed for a 521/620? The only issue is the travel on a lowered truck I guess you want it centered, Thats the only real proplem I see.

I had Bilsteins on my Capri and they wernt any harder than those KYBs I got for my 521.

Compare a Racho to a KYB(Gas a Just). tell me which one you like?

anyway a shock is made to keep the wheel from boucing(oscillating).

Be honest I would by just a cheap 10$ gas and call it good for daily driving

I have Bilstein on my 521

They are very stiff shocks

I'm happy with it.

Have not installed the front ones yet, not enough suspension travel.

Thinking of putting the dog bone upside down then re-adjust the ride height and gain more suspension travel.

Toxic shock part #411015 has a collapsed measurement of 7.25" compared to 8.125" of a stock shock for a 2wd datsun 521/620. That is .875" shorter than stock which will gain the vehicle about 2 inches more suspension drop.

This is the shortest shock that i have found so far.

No, they are not very inexpensive, but comparible in price to the KYB's. Quality I do not know.

Doestch tech's web site does not show the short shocks anymore(maybe never did). They dont show anything shorter than a 9" collapsed shock.

I guess take a new shock

collapse it far as it can. then ink pen mark the bottom end travel on outside.

then do the most extended. maybe make a ruler out of it with inches on there.

Then install the shock and you can subtract how much travel you really have.

I personally dont see a need to put a real good shock on a 521/620 anyways.

as for flipping a Dogbone isnt the bushes/bolts made for one side or the other.

The bottom has a vulcrum pin and grease in it.??????
