andrewhans
this is really cool. I've always wanted the Honda S2k Push start but this is equally badass. Great work! Quote Link to comment
DatsunDave09
Thanks Andrew. The problem with the S2000 switch is it only does the starter, nothing else. This does it all. And as you say, "This is really cool." Going to the Ratsun Meet tomorrow at Carl's Jr. in Tacoma, WA. Hope to see a few of you. as I know there are some straglers LOL Dave Here's a link to all the photo's for the DZ-Start http://s1138.photobucket.com/albums/n534/DatsunDave09/ Quote Link to comment

]2eDeYe
Thanks for letting me check that out. Do you have a door lock package? That was excellent. Quote Link to comment
DatsunDave09
Door locks are tricky. I can put Actuators in almost any car, it's just a matter of drilling holes (for wiring) in the correct place, that doesn't interfere with door operations or window mechanisms. Usually not an issue as I take all that into account when installing door locks, power windows, etc, etc. Door locks are a breeze in most older cars. I can do them in your 510's, 620's or whatever. I can sell a complete kit with 2 or 4 actuators, the needed relays, wiring, inexpensive remote Keyless door lock system, etc, etc. I live in Marysville, I'm kinda close to a lot of you. Let me know a week in advance and I can open the garage, install power door locks, keyless system, DZ-Start System and most other Accesories in a day or less. Email me with what you'd like in your particular vehicle and we'll go from there. Price, time, schedule, specifics. We'll figure it out. I'm a certified 12 volt specialist, MECP certified installer, Electrical upgrade manufacturer and all around Datsun Guy. I'll take care of ya and do it as affordably as possible. I have Suppliers, who have suppliers. If there's a way to "Do It in a Datsun" inexpensively, I'm all over it. I've done full power door locks, power windows and alarms in over 30) S30's, a couple 510's and a few 620's. j2eDeYe I'll be home all day, please feel free to stop by if you have time. I'll show ya what I got. My address and # is in your PM's somewhere Dave wolfin32z@yahoo.com Quote Link to comment
rojadoja
Nice to see someone else with their mecp certs, too many hack installers out there. Reminds me mine are about to expire again. Quote Link to comment
DatsunDave09
I'm sure my Cert. has expired but at the same time, I have more world experience then most of the installers working at Car-toys now-a-days. And the nice thing about the DZ-Start is you don't need to be an installer to hook up the 3 wires and 3 connectors it takes to make this work in your Datsun. Dave Quote Link to comment
DatsunDave09
There is an "off", "accessory", and a "running" position, but is there a "key on engine off" position? KOEO comes in handy during troubleshooting sometimes Found some great news for ya. Typically, if you press the button once, you get Acc. If you press on the brake pedal and press and hold the button, the car starts. -*BUT*- If the button shows ACC from the first press, just a quick TAP of the button while pressing the brake pedal, the car won't start but the ignition relay is turned on, for diagnostic work or whatever. I found out by accident today. I tried to start the car and didn't press the button long enough. Looked down and saw the ON LED was on, which means the Ign. Relay was on. So yes. The new design does support your need for an Ign ON position for working on the car. So get in the car, press the brake pedal and "Double Tap" the button for an "Ign. ON" position without the car running. then, without pressing the brake pedal, tap again to shut it off. OR press the brake and hold the button to start. Dave Quote Link to comment
datsun723
Definitely interested as my ignition is trashed. Just need to save up :D Quote Link to comment
rojadoja
Any updates on availability for an impatient jackass like me? Looks like it might be wet this Sunday, hoping for some sunshine! Quote Link to comment
freaky510
I want one for the 411 that shit is sick!!! Quote Link to comment
DatsunDave09
Still about 2 weeks out from getting the boards. Then I gotta load and solder them up, package and ship them. So I'mgonna say 2+ weeks, but more likely around 3 weeks to be safe. Trust me, I want this ready to go more than anyone. Fricken Rain is putting a real damper on my plans for Sunday. Been watching the weather channel and local news for updats and it looks like it's gonna be wet and Wnidy. Especially on the shores of GG. Quote Link to comment
DatsunDave09
*UPDATE* time.......... Just installed the New Remote Control Key Fob Option in the box and it works Great!!!! Even with all the wiring and other crap in my dash, the tinted windows (Usually gives signals a problem) metal and all that, The Remote had about a 40 Foot Range on it. I was across the street in my neighbors Garage and it still worked fine. No beeping or light flash, just hit the ON or OFF button and you're good. This is the best I can do on a first Edition run. I hope to offer a stand alone RFID system that can be hooked up to the Orange Dissengage wire, at a later date. But for now, the Remote System seems to do the trick for those worried about security. Here's what you'll get..... A blue wire and 2) Remote Key Fobs. Dave 1.25" wide X 1.75" long The DZ-Start with Remote Option will be an additional $25 for a total of $195 delivered anywhere in the Lower 48 United States. Does this work for anyone now? DatsunDave09
Remote Security Dissengage. Hit the Remotes ON button and the LOCK LED flashes and the Switch is dissengaged and does nothing, until you hit the OFF to let the switch work again. Quote Link to comment

Hit the Remotes ON button and the LOCK LED flashes and the Switch is dissengaged and does nothing, until you hit the OFF to let the switch work again. Is there a way to tie that into my alarm key fob? Like when I engage the alarm, it also disengages the ignition? Quote Link to comment
Skib
I ordered one and will be doing a write up/test for a 620 install when it comes in. Quote Link to comment
DatsunDave09
If you already have an alarm, Then you don't need the Remote Security Version DZ-Start. If you have a starter disconnect relay in your existing alarm, and it's controlled by an Orange (or possible some other color "Ground when Armed" ouput wire, The DZ-Start has an Orange Seurity wire that you can connect to your alarms "Ground when armed" wire. Just Cut your alarms Orange wire. Connect the DZ-Start Orange wire and the alarm side of the cut wire together and connect using the Supplied Butt-connector. Then add the Supplied Diode to the other side of the butt-connector. Then connect the diode to the other side of the cut wire that is going to the Starter cut-off relay. The Diode should have the Striped side (Cathode) toward the Alarm and dissengage wire, with the Anode side to toward the Starter cut-off relay. Quote Link to comment

DatsunDave09
I'm Trying!! I'm kickin ass on another order for Motorsport so I can get on the Relay harnesses for the DZ-Start System. Things are moving faster than expected. (Can you say Expedited Shipping?) Boards are on their way home and I got cases to Machine, Relay harnesses to build and instructions to write as well as button cables to make. So if you don't hear from me for a few days, it's cause I'm stuck in the lab, doing the MAD Scientist Routine. Muahahaha  Dave Quote Link to comment
