what did the shop charge you to do new syncros in tranny?

It wasn't cheep but I found a good shop here in Sac Manual Transmission Warehouse http://maps.google.c...6539792869&z=14

I had the just open it up and tell me what was wrong with it. I knew the 3rd gear syncro was gone and they confirmed it. Replaced all the syncros and a rod that had excessive wear Redid the front and rear seals. Gave me a bag with all the old parts in it to show what they replaced. After all was said in done the price was $450 with a one year warranty.

So project got stalled a little while, I've been waiting to get the right pistons for the engine rebuild. Also I pulled off the driver side spindle to take to the machine shop and have them press out the old king pins out and new ones in. No new photos but it took me about a week of spraying penetrating oil and banging on it to break all the nuts loose. That was the last of the dismantling thou, now just to get it all back together.

Man your fast.

Just for info ,

Next time get the better cam sprocket. that one you have you cant see your cam timming. Those are the made in USA ones and they put the inspection holes in the wrong spot. So one day you you ever do a head gasket and dont mark the spot youll never really know if you got it spot on. least with the Jap made sprockets if your off youll just dial up to TDC on crank and the ck up top and youll know and make a correction.

as for the 280Z pistons(10.9cc dish 86mm)? so it will be lower compression . I assume this is a L18(4cc dish85mm)

NGK makes nice wire sets NE64

Standard motor Products make a nice Blu streak dizzy cap(copper contacks_

LOOKS GOOD
