i need local help putting a head back on

If you removed the cam sprocket without first locking the chain with a wood wedge the tensioner will fall out. The only way to get it back in is by removing the complete timing chain cover.

 

Here's what it should look like:

if your going to pull the fron cover off loosen the oil pan bolt so you can pull the pan down abit. this helps from tearing the oil pan gasket. if it tears splic another on in there.

 

also.if you do remove the front and get new stuff here you could set the pistons in the middle of the block in case your head is not aligned TDC form the machine shop. so you get the lobes in the right spot and that cam gear. if new timming set it to 1.

 

also ck the machine shop set the lash up correctly. otherwise you might have no compression and just blow it out the exhaust and wont start.

 

hopefully you have torq wrench.

 

rember at end to torq tha cam and crank bolt up.
