It came with the body, frame, doors, suicide door kit, grille with original emblem, two dash panels, and a few decent windows. Its been chopped 4'' I believe. So i have no original suspension and im thinking about doing a suicide front end, and a four link in the rear. Also thinking about a datsun truck frame with a chevy motor. Ive never built a frame before and i was wondering if anyone has done such suspension on a 32 chevy frame? Im also looking for any suspension parts that may work for my ratrod. I have the original fenders and hood, and side hood panels. Willing to trade for front end parts or straight axle and or rear end parts. yello620 Posted January 14, 2011 Report Share Posted January 14, 2011 Many years ago i saw a 1927 fiberglass bodied roadster pickup built on a datsun pickup frame. Earlier frame with drum brakes, but it did have the L motor in it still too. So about a 70-77 frame. It looked like it worked really well too.. Good luck Quote Link to comment
bananahamuck Posted January 14, 2011 Report Share Posted January 14, 2011 I thought you were putting chevy in a Ford, this is alot better .........Portland swap meet ,April 1,2,3 ( 76 days away lol ) start at the speedway and work your way over to expo center plan two days and bring notebook and talk to the scruffiest guys cause they usually have more ( cheaper ) crap back at their house. But there is website called __Rat Bastards__ and they are somewhat local and check out oics of dude building rod using 1994 honda passport frame and in main picture section he has 6 wheel truck riding on Izuzu trooper frame..it`s not really a forum like this but you can contact ( i think ) people on there for advise and they INFEST a LOT of local shows. bananahamuck Posted January 15, 2011 Report Share Posted January 15, 2011 I would use a junk Datsun truck cause even a rat rod is a bottomless money pit and saving money on somebody else's ruined project you would be throwing almost all of the body type parts away anyway...hondo-do,& izupoo frame mentions were for reference only Also that rat rod with iron cross ( in pumpkin link ) is for sale it lives in Bonney lake..
