front suspension

Hi everyone.

ok i bought my 2dr 510 1971 a year ago

and just got it running good,

so now i bought panasports wheels for it

and noticed my front sus has been change

and i dont know what its from

im guessing it from a 200sx with camber plates

how would i know for sure what i have?

i want to buy strut inserts but dont know what to ask for?

With no pics its hard to tell. Do they have coilovers ? How big is the rotor ? A stock 510 rotor will be smaller than a ZX rotor. Thats 1 way to tell if your struts have been swapped.

my bro had the panasports i bought and fit his 510 great

on mine my tire would rub my purch and the wheel would not sit right into the center of the hub it was thicker.

so i had to use 3/16" spacers to make them fit fight and not wobble.

my springs are also smaller in diameter than my bros 510 ones.

also a stock 510 purch sits over the tire and my purch sits right on the tire

PLEASE: ....DO NOT drive until you get longer lug bolts .......... The front wheels will fall off with any spacer and stock lug bolts

and would love to keep using them

Non vented rotor so its not 280zx, caliper dosent look stock

Are the lug nuts 12x1.25 ? ............... The spring perches don't look stock ............ the calipers don't look at all like 280zx calipers...... It's a mystery

Do you guys think they look like 200sx from early 80's

I heard that they lower 510 by 1" in stock form

There is camber plates made of steel

and I'm ne'er longbeach. PO is in Frisco Bay area

I bought it and drove it July 2009.

Theres a "wheel stud" thread in the 510 section. Lots of info & part #'s. I posted pix & info on how to swap the longer studs on.
