datzenmike
You can eliminate the external regulator by swapping in an IR (Internally Regulated) alternator from most Nissan cars from '78 on. The IR alternators will be marked LR. External regulated alternators will be marked LT. You cannot run an IR alternator with the external regulator. The external regulator must be unplugged. Further, the old regulator plug must have two jumper wires added to it to make it work and to allow the red CHARGE light to work. Sources for a 50/60 amp IR alternator would be a.... '78-'79 200sx (S10) '80-'83 200sx (S110) '78-'81 510 (A10) '81 and up 710 truck They will likely be marked LR-150 (50amp) or LR-160 (60amp) Quote Link to comment

moparvwfreak
was praying this diagram would work for my 620, and it did. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Didn't work on my 710. If you look the jumper from White to Yellow wires puts a constant 12 volts on the choke relay coil so it never shuts off. It works on 510 but I had to disconnect the relay and connect it through the ignition. Quote Link to comment
ariascarlos1990
Eff those auto choke relays. Quote Link to comment
moparvwfreak
I will have to double check my wiring diagram and compare, but it seems since my trucks a 73 it works. Quote Link to comment
