SHADY280
sounds like the z may need a tune up as well. maybe tune the carbs and set timing. find a early 5 spd they have really good accel ratios Quote Link to comment
SublimeDatsun610
well, i just got finished replacing the clutch and stuffing a 5 spd in about an hour ago. haven't lower it from the jack stands for the maiden voyage yet. next is the rear diff. i know the Z is running a bit fat. datzenmike
SHADY I believe the very first B type 4 speed used had a very low first gear and wide spread ratios. The z 4 speeds from Dec '74 on were the same 1 2 3 ratios as the 5 speeds up till the zx, and would be considered a medium close ratio tranny. The zx 5 speeds were even closer ratio. SHADY280
yeah mike, i have a 77/78 year z 5spd. its ratios are very much more noticeable compared to my 82 trans thats in there right now. i also have my trucks 4 speed, it should have stump puller ratios! Quote Link to comment
