Thanks Kyle. Gonna be a whole new world.

I didn't want to wrap the oil feed line around the back of the motor and after a bunch of back and forth I decided on this:

Drilled and tapped a piece of 303 SS. Welded the bitch to the back of the block!

Got the passenger side hose made up, just gotta go out after work and test fit!

Next is the oil return. I'm gonna drill a hole in the block and tap it for the fitting.... More later.

Thanks!

I mocked up all the lines today. Tuesday I'll have them made.

I was gonna drill and tap the block but it would be too close to the crank. I just went with the oil pan...

Water feed line straight out of the block. Not super stoked on the routing but I don't have another good option.

I'll never sell this one. I might build another in the future but this one will always remain in the stable. It's funny I look at what I've done and wonder "WTF HAPPENED?"..... I know they make drugs to control ADHD but..... I just shake my head and go about re-engineering something else... Eventually it will be done. The end is in sight now. It's hugely time consuming to do things the way I've done but it's the only way I know. One of my mentors and the best fabricator I've ever seen always told me "If your gonna do it, do it right".....

Luckily I have the luxury of time. Problem is I'm impatient... I've definitely improved my patience on this build and learned to never go with your first instinct when building a car. Let it sit for a couple weeks and i guarantee you'll discover it wasn't such a good idea and another better idea will crop up.

Looks like I got another side job next weekend that will fill my car fund enough to get this thing on the road. Not painted or finished interior but roadworthy. Now I'll have to try and fit wrenching time into the schedule.

I'm sure the first test drive is gonna make it all worth it    :w00t:  :ninja:

Thanks and I'm sure you will!!

I haven't made any real progress. Next up is moving and then my son being born!!!! Luckily I don't have to move the car and shop anymore. Huge relief!

I did buy a vdo oil pressure gauge with 0-80psi sender with 7psi warning switch.

Its still alive. Its pulse is weak but still beating....

BUT!!! My son is due any day. Probably by the end of the week :)

I've been planning my 5/16" SS hard fuel lines. I built a tubing straightener but need to make a small change.

I did get this in the mail the other day....

Canister style fuel filter. Gonna make a new mount for it later...

Thanks guys. I got an extra gift called the flu on Saturday. Been in bed for 4 days.....

I got some more parts in the mail :)

Aeromotive FPR and Russel 0-100PSI gauge.

20140910_181457_zpsjalvqd7l.jpg

I cut the 20' tube in half and had all 4 ends flared 37deg. It didn't make sense to buy or make a tool for a total of 8 flares. Just gotta order the final fittings and once the hardlines, FPR and Fuel filter are in place I can make the soft lines to the tank and motor. Gonna weld new ends on my fuel rail with #5 JIC fittings to match.

I chose all JIC stuff instead of AN due to cost and the lack of -5AN stuff on the market. Running 5/16" line means -5, 3/8" means -6. I'm ok with it though as its steel hardware and bomb proof.

Here's the cost breakdown to get from tank to injector rail....

$120 - Aeromotive 13129 EFI Fuel Pressure Regulator

$30 - Russell 650340 Fuel Pressure Gauge

$90 - Aeromotive 10 Micron, Canister Fuel Filter

$60 - 5/16"diax0.028"wallx20'long Seamless SS tubing

$50 - 8x flared ends

$80 - misc #5 JIC Fittings

$100 - SS Braided teflon tubed soft lines.

$530.00 Total. Ouch!
