Auto parts stores sell a silicate based "muffler sealant" in a tube. It is high temperature resistant. Put a circle around the 2 exhaust holes in the gasket, on both sides, and install. Hopefully this willfill in any warping of the flanges and seal the joint. I used this method to fabricate an exhaust gasket for my RL411 out of 2 510 gaskets. It's been holding for 12 years.

i doubt the manifold side would be warped enough to make it leak but the flange side would be, i made a flange out of 1/4 inch plate and its been working great! just use the gasket as a template !

 

Wellllllllllllllllll ,,, you have to work on enough over-heated motors to see this :lol:
