So I didn't have to take the carb off the mani. May need to tighten one of the bolts down. I may have loosened it before I found the bigger box. Have fun. Link to comment

banzai510(hainz) Posted July 2, 2010 Report Share Posted July 2, 2010 Look like a elelctric choke to me.Lautsu you might have gotton lucky that its not a water choke. 71 521 didnt have a eleltric choke wire?Or did it. This your org carb have a maunual choke or eleltric. If eleltric find the wire and hook it up to the round platic part. should be a hook up. Link to comment

banzai510(hainz) Posted July 3, 2010 Report Share Posted July 3, 2010 llok like he had this on his rig and has the cable holder in the correct position since the cable pulls from the oppiste way. Like I sai you can get those Manuual choke conversion plastic caps from Napa or where ever and make this work and use you cable since a 71 is a maual choke. Otherwise to use the eleltric you got to splice 12votl from soemwhere. or maybe just looseen the choke cap and turn it so the choke plates are open and not use it. Just pump the gas a few times and it will be fine. Remeber once the carb is on you have to adjust the mixture scre at base with the tension spring then adjust the speed screw. Link to comment
