Hi everyone. I'm new here. I've been racing GT cars in Canada for a while. The economic reality for sponsors and the escalating operating expenses were starting to bankrupt me. I decided late last year to simplify my racing and start a new project. I picked up an old 68 2 door 510 which had been raced since Jesus was a corporal. You can check out some of the progress Here: http://www.canadiankustoms.com/Datsun%20510/

The chassis has progressed since the last update. Those pictures should be up soon. Chassis should be in full primer by Sunday.

Okay for anyone who can help me perform some research. What was the most radical Datsun 510 raced in any FIA or SVRA or SCCA class in the 80s? Was Turbo Toms car raced in any other races besides the Walter Mitty at R-Atlanta? My car has been relegated to a class of racing called G70 in Canada. This was decided because the officials felt that the flares which the car was raced with since 1969 weren't considered period correct. I don't want to get into the debate of this decision as we all know 510 have been raced with flares since the beginning. I'm stuck being on track with GT1 cars and tube framed ex-IMSA cars. I'll need some poke just to keep up. I realise that I won't be beating any of these big boys , however I'll take the opportunity to go out and have some fun. I don't want to render the car completely illegal( no cutting the firewall) and I can go back to running a L20B when the officials die off or come to their senses.
