Took me a minute, I thought someone filled it fulla concrete from the angle that pic was taken. I was like "Did they... is that.... FUCKING CONCRETE?!?! :frantics: :blink: I did the same thing on my frontier motor.

Looks like it was wrapped with heat wrap, judging by the flaking of the metal. Is this correct?

 

 

maybe at some point in its life but not as long as we've owned it (2 years)

Yeh you can tell by how the cast iron is flaking off. People like using that stuff, but it's *horrible* for the metal. Keeping the heat in actually crystallizes the metal, making it really brittle. Had it happen to a set of headers years ago, and I'll never use it again.

lol ya Iv seen it on headers before but this is a first for the stock mani, there pretty tough to break.
