Dimerforlife13
What has to be done to a 510 to make the 4 lug 300zx wheel fit? I have 280zx struts with GC coilovers on them. For some reason I thought they were a bolt on affair, but I'm wrong. The tire is hitting the coilover. Any help is appreciated. -Brett Quote Link to comment

NICKLE&DIME
what size tire? Quote Link to comment
Dimerforlife13
195-50-15. I need spacers, I got it backwards. 510 struts work, 280zx don't. Should have done more research before going and buying new tires...dammit. Anyone know or have the right size spacer? Quote Link to comment
thisismatt
Geez man, it's not that hard to figure out what you need. Shim the wheel out until it doesn't rub, buy spacer of equal or greater width. That, or perhaps get 300zx hubs to replace the 280zx hubs, but that requires different brakes as well. Another possibility is 200sx 4 lug struts/hubs/brakes. Quote Link to comment
mklotz70
On mine is was about 1/4". You can put a couple of flat washers between the rim and hub to see how thick you have to go. THIS IS FOR TESTING PURPOSES ONLY!!!! DO NOT DRIVE WITH WASHERS BEHIND THE WHEEL!! Once you've gotten enough washers in there so that the rim doesn't rub, meausure their thickness. Dimerforlife13
I understand how to check it, I was just wondering if anyone had already done it. Thanks for the help. Quote Link to comment
Jester
The PO of my wagon found washers under the wheels. He put some 1/8" spacers on. This is for the offset of the wheels not a change in suspension. Quote Link to comment
260zkaboom
When you use that wheel, make sure you use the factory lug nuts that nissan uses that have a thicker shoulder than the aftermarket lugs. The aftermarket lugs will kinda pull through, make you wonder if the wheels need to be rebalanced, and turn away on its own. I had a buddy that had it happen to him, amazingly, even though it was the left front wheel that came off on the freeway he said the car set down on the front rotor without any wild reactions.
