GaDatsun
Hey, I've been reading these posts for a few months, and there is a lot of good info in them. I bought a disk conversion kit for my 71 521 and have run across some Toyota Tacoma wheels for sale, will they fit without clearance problems? Thanks for your help. Quote Link to comment
tnip
welcome... are you another georgia datsun owner? what size are the tacoma wheels? diameter, width, backspacing. and what conversion kit is it? with some more information i'm sure somebody here will be able to help you figure this out. GaDatsun
Hey thanks, Yes Warner Robins, Ga. The wheels are 16s that is all I know so far, haven't gotten my hands on them yet. I bought the parts from BEEBANI. Have been cleaning, blasting and painting on the frame. Getting ready to start working on putting it together. Actually my son has been doing all of the work, I just have so sit back and watch :) Quote Link to comment

Our trucks are 6X139.7mm. (139.7mm converts to 5.5") And welcome! Post some pictures of your father son truck! Quote Link to comment
fisch
And add your 521 to the poll! We need some more #'s! Quote Link to comment
datsunfish
Not sure on the brake kit but,all 6 lugs are the same except for Dodge. There is a 620 pictured somewhere with toyota 4x4 wheels. Quote Link to comment
Bleach
as far as the bolt pattern goes, I would also say that Toyota, Nissan, and Mazda use the same lug pattern. Hub clearances vary, although I never had a problem installing late model Nissan wheels on my 620. Wheel width and offset might matter, but 7 inch wide or less should fit fine. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Unless the new 'Yoda pattern changed they should fit. I have six bolt 'Yoda 4X4 front hubs and the bolt pattern is the same as the 620 rears. Thread is slightly different. I think Chev, Ford and Trooper rims fit too. 521 and 620 rims up to '78 won't work for your conversion. Quote Link to comment
]2eDeYe
Toyota rims fit, sorta. If they are the aluminum rims they will require specific lug nuts for centering, of course Toyota's use a different thread pitch so you may need to get new studs as well. You will also either have to machine the center of the wheels out or machine your hubs down to get them to fit on the front. I machined my hubs sow I could use any wheel I wanted. Newer Nissan Xterras and Frontiers (2005+) use the smaller 6 on 5 lug size...which is the same as the newer Dodge Dakota six lug, also used on the Viper and Cadillac CTS-V's...bastards... GaDatsun
If I would have to machine them or the hubs to use them, I think I'll pass and wait 'till I can find something that will fit without it. Thanks everyone for the input. Quote Link to comment
Bleach
Nissan Frontier has 17" factory wheels available. My guess would be that they bolt on and fit with no modifications. I used 15" Frontier wheels (2001) on my 1978 truck I had. Quote Link to comment
]2eDeYe
I believe '04 is when Nissan changed the smaller truck pattern....bastards.... ...and you will have to machine any late model wheel or get 1/4" spacer to run them. Quote Link to comment
GaDatsun
Well, crap..... Anyone know where I can get spacers? Quote Link to comment
Bleach
2eDeYe;24352'']I believe '04 is when Nissan changed the smaller truck pattern.... well, 2001-2004 is the same body style of Frontier. 2005+ is the newer design. it is likely that the bolt pattern change went along with the body and frame change Quote Link to comment
