DRIVEN
Just went through your realm thread. Beautiful car! Looks like you ran into some of the same fitment issues I did with my LD9. Your pan fits better though. Once you get it up and running please give us an update here about what you honestly think about it and whether you'd do it again. Quote Link to comment

Sleepys-14
I think you could do it, I don't know for sure, but it is very close to a ka or sr. Wiring was simple, powers, grounds and thats about it. Quote Link to comment
Uber Deaf One
Ecotec!!!! I love those engines! I never really looked into getting one into a 510 though... nice!! Quote Link to comment

Ryan Family 510
Be interesting to know the HP of some of those engines. I have to imagine some of those are putting up 300+? In a 2100lb 510, thats crazy. I'd be dead already if I had one of those engines in my 510!!!!! But very cool I must say! Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
Yes the Nissan SR20DET and Nissan CA18DET can easily put out 300 HP with stock long block. Pushes the 510 pretty hard. Quote Link to comment
ByStickel
Aside from L18 and L20s, the original old-school swaps were rotaries and Buick 215 ci V8s. '80s-style. I'm surprised nobody has posted the Buick swap. Same basic engine (aluminum block, pushrod, about 300lb) as more recent Rovers. Pics of mine are on my old computer. I posted some pics not too long ago and got a whole lot of 'meh' in response. No turbo, no interest, I guess. Quote Link to comment

But very cool I must say! well the gen 2 made 240 hp and 280ft lbs, the gen 3's made 260 and 300ft lbs, with a smaller pulley, header which i already have and inter-cooler 350 is easily attained and and still very reliable, if you keep up with maintenance 300k on this engine is nothing. thats the only thing i never liked about the SR20, dam thing cost me $100 a week to keep it running. willz
I'm a little suprised no one has made mention to any 5 cylinder motors... Quote Link to comment
jvb5577
What are your guys thoughts on a 4G54 mitsubishi turbo motor? Are they good motors? Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
No not good. Barely make 200 HP and last 150,000 miles and heavy.and ugly. Quote Link to comment

Big_E-Dog
think he meant audi and volkswagon motors. but a vigor is no exception.. Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
I thought he was talking about the Chevy Vortec 3500 - but you're right, he didn't say. Posted some picture of a hacked up car. Quote Link to comment
TiMopar
This is my 72 into which I have put a Ford Cosworth YB Turbo engine. I previously ran it in another car, and it is running 300hp which is the limit for the T3 Turbo. Please bear in mind it is 'work in progress' with lots of things not connected or tidied up. Exhaust systen next, then brakes, then.... well, you know how it goes... Quote Link to comment
