Schroeder6th
Trolling for a used Tilton Super Starter for L16. Thanks, Doc Hudson Link to comment
datzenmike
I don't know if it's more super but my starter is from a Maxima L24E motor. It's longer than the stock one and gear reduction. Flings it over pretty good. Also any 280z/zx would be bigger than the L16. Link to comment
banzai510(hainz)
a later 280z or 280zx will have a gear reduction starter. Tilton Super starters is really a Hitachi GR starter anyways!!!!!just to let you know. 23300-N5903R from nissanparts.cc or go to junk yard. they will fit all L motors Link to comment
Pacific coast Datsun
Im with Hainz here..i scored a NEW GR starter off a ZX on half off day [at the yard] for $12 :D Link to comment
69FJWagon
I am assuming he is looking for the starter with the offset snout to work with a small tilton double disk clutch assy (6"?) so the standard starter will not work because of the smaller diameter of the clutch assy. with that said if that is indeed what you are looking for Troy Ermish may have an extra one but it would take some doing for him to part with it as it may be a back up for his B-sedan 510 Clayton Link to comment

Schroeder6th
Sorry Guys/Gals. Stated "Tilton Super Starter" from my Lawn Dart [formula car] days. i've got a new L16 high compression that the stock starter is disliking, looking for beefier options. Regards, Doc Hudson Link to comment
banzai510(hainz)
if there is a stock L motor starter in there then the Stock 280zx Gear ruduction starter will be fine. I would buy the nissan dealer ones or from nissanparts.cc as they are better rebuilds than the local parts stores If its got to say "TILTON" on there then I guess it wont work for ya no matter how hard we try. heres anothersite http://www.tsimportedautomotive.com/starter0.html Edited April 15, 2009 by banzai510(hainz) Link to comment
