620 72 1/2 to 79 620 are all the same.

Well they will interchange but there are some differences in looks. Not so sure about US models but early may have MPH only and later have smaller KPH numbers inside the larger MPH on the dial. Could be wrong...

The speedometers through mid '77 have only MPH in the US. Mid 1977-on, they have small numbers with KPH on them. They're all functionally compatible. Internally they are a little different, as the early '72-74 (at a minimum) ones had a paper shim spacer glued to the back of the face that always comes unglued and ends up stuck in the odometer. Looks weird with the corner of the piece of paper obscuring part of the odometer. Never seen that on a '76 or later, but every '73 and '74 I've seen and/or owned did.

I went out and looked at my fleet and heres what I found out.

the 74, 76 are without the KPH letters/readings on them.

the 78 and 79 do have the KPH letters above the needle & readings in blue.

I would think the mounting through the years would be the same or close to it. I haven't done that yet.

pics are for a reference incase someone wants to know what were talking about..
