mklotz70
Thanks guys. I agree Pete....that's why my truck kit will have the high grade bolts and the loctite included in them.....because I don't trust that the guys installing them would do their "due dillegence" and actually go buy their own.....they'd half-*ss it and of course, when it fails, they'd look at me like I did something wrong. As of now, Freaky is going to be producing the setup. I'm looking forward to seeing what he comes up with. If he decides he can't, I'll probably do them, but not until well after Canby. Anyway i will be installing the bracket today I first need to find some new bolts and have the bearing race pressed out i will take lots of pics. I am hoping to be making these brackets soon i have a few people looking at the design now,Iam waiting on a quote my only real concern is the quality that they will be. i told them i want them to be exact the same quality of the one mike made.I know that set the bar pretty high:lol: hell with all of his manual tools they should be able to meet that standard hell if a computer ran machine cant make one as nice i think we will have a problem:lol: Quote Link to comment

Super good idea to supply the bolts given the proliferation of counterfeited high grade bolts [crap bolts with fake head markings showing grade 6 for example]. Quote Link to comment
freaky510
so i spent most of the day tring to find the right bearings it seams that my 411 is running a hub off a earlier year.so after finding the last 2 outer bearings in longview i will try to get the brackets mounted today. I still need to find some bolts Fasenal is closed today and so is Vancouver bolt so i might wait until tomorrow to do this i don't trust Lowe's,home depot bolts myself i have broke a few of their higher grade bolts Quote Link to comment
mklotz70
They're SAE....any TrueValue or Ace should have the bolts. They're 3/8" fine(24?) The outer bearing should have been a 30304....according to rockauto....all of these use them...shouldn't have been too hard to find if you used the bearing number. By application....ya..they'd have a hard time! freaky510
the book they had called for a 20204 not a 20304. and for the bolt the price you pay at tru value, i can get all my bolts for the price of one at fastenals or vancouver bolt Quote Link to comment
mklotz70
double check the bearing itself......it's a 30304. I wouldn't be surprised if their application listings are wrong. It's wrong on the truck's inner bearings. ....I just checked your pics...it's a 30304. I agree....they're more expensive, but I think I was paying .95ea at Parkrose Hrdwr for the ones I bought for the mock up. I don't remember the length or if mine were even long enough. freaky510
aahh yes the advatage of living in Oregon its cheaper :lol: tru value/Ace :3/8 x 2" 1.98 + tax each fastenals : 3/8 x 2" 3.68 + tax for a box so as you can see i wait until fastenal opens and shit half the time i only grab a few bolts at a time and they dont even charge me for them :fu::lol: and yes their book is wrong Edited March 30, 2009 by freaky510 iam doomass Quote Link to comment
mklotz70
You must have an account and/or your fastenal is a lot cheaper. Here they want $13.91 for a box of 25 3/8"x2"x 24tpi in the cheapest finish. Quote Link to comment

freaky510
okay sorry the first plan didn't work as we thought, mike didn't have all the necessary parts to take all the clearances into effect. so after mike and i got together with the car we figured out how to make it work. i will require a little more fab work than we had hopped it would. as of now a spacer is being made and a few other parts have to modified once i get all done i will make a full detailed post with lots of pic on how it will work. i myself am happy with the out come but it is not a 100% yet we are at about 90% to having it complete. then......................??????????????:eek::lol: Quote Link to comment

freaky510
okay last post iam going to put up for this bracket..... I would like to know how many of you would a bracket.Iam not going to make a bunch of these up to be used a paper weights I need to get an Idea of how many too make so i can get a quote on it and set the price to do them 1 at a time is not cost effective. A dozen would actually cost less to make than 1 :confused: but i don't want 10 sets laying around so May 1 is the date they have me set for it will take a few days after that. I know you all are asking well how much with who i have on a list now its looking like 200 way to much in my opinion so if we could get a few more people it would be cheaper Quote Link to comment
robslow
count me in. I get paid on the first, Im freakin stocked to be able to have brakes and finish her. Quote Link to comment

mklotz70
Have you gotten yours mounted up and working yet? Quote Link to comment
freaky510
so of course they want to send it out to get a quote for laser cutting the bracket so we all have to wait. Iam in talk with a few other people on making this sorry its taking so long but with the limited resources in town iam doing what i can. but hey on the bright side i found a guy that can make just about anything out of aluminum. iam tring to get this done yes i have had them mounted up but had to take them off to take down to the shop Quote Link to comment
freaky510
so it has been brought to my attention that this is taking to long and people are chopping at the bit to have a disc swap. I want to say sorry it is taking so long. I am a family man and work in construction and its been hell this past 7 months for me and my family(not your problem right!!!)living on a tight budget. to be honest i dont have 600 to throw down right now to have mass brackets made and with only 2 people asking for it makes it kind of expensive for them for you guys. plus trying to get all the other pieces Like nuts, bolts, calipers and rotors to make this a little more user friendly so if i dont move fast enough tuff shit my family comes first it is in the process of being done. so really iam waiting too and on another note so stop emailing me your bitch and whines:fu: Quote Link to comment
