  1. I have driven a few of the late 80s early 90s models, we had them as duty vans at work. 5 speed on the column. Was a little strange getting used to... Seen a few of the older ones in the van clubs, they are pretty cool.
  2. Finished it up this weekend. Didn't come out too bad... Ended up capping the ends as well, thanks for all the input.
  3. Spotted two 510s today, a blue wagon heading east on the 76 in Oceanside and a 4 door on Camp Pendleton. Of course I was not driving mine at the time...
  4. Still looking if anyone comes across one...
  5. Upon closer inspection it looks as if there is some light cracking/dry rot on the portions of the tires with the flat spots. They still look fine but I don't want to sell them in that condition.
  6. That thing is sweet, too bad it's for the 1/12th...A bit small. That dude has some pretty cool stuff for sale Sunny Truck http://cgi.ebay.com/1-10-RC-BODY-CAR-NISSAN-DATSUN-SUNNY-PICK-UP-TRUCK-/190515772767?pt=Radio_Control_Vehicles&hash=item2c5b9ffd5f#ht_4652wt_907
  7. Howdy All, Have an extra set (2) of BFG Radial T/As 225/60/14 sitting in the garage doing me no good. Tires have less than 200 miles on them but were on a car I had in storage so they formed a small flat spot. Tread is fine and tires look good. I just don't have anything to put them on any more. $50.00 takes them away or open to trades (Parts, Tools, Fish Tank, Reptile Stuff, let me know what you have). If interested shoot me a PM
  8. Looking to see if anyone has an extra Cam Oiler for an L6 laying around that they might want to get rid of. (stock type - the kind that bolts onto the cam towers, pictured below) If so shoot me a PM. Thanks
  9. Very nice work and thanks for the input guys. A talked to a few guys that just turned it around and cut out the LCA mounts...Removing the center section just seemed like it left a lot less room for error, at least for what I have to work with. That jig locks it down solid, you can't see it in the pictures but there are also nuts on the back side of the jig that lock it forward against tabs welded to the plate as well. I like that top mount idea as well and was thinking of adding a top brace. Don't think there will be much (if any) heat shrinkage/movement when I pull it off the jig to weld up the bottom. What did you all use to make the cuts - I don't have access to a band saw so might have to go with a cut off wheel and a slow hand... Should be able to cut it up and weld this weekend. Will let you know how it goes.
  10. Howdy all, Trying to get things together for my SR swap - Picked up an extra crossmember and now in prep to cut and flip the center section. Searched around a bit but haven't been able too find to much on the process. Looks pretty straight forward from what I have seen... Attached are pictures of the jig I just finished. Just looking for some input on anything I might be missing before I cut this thing up...? Any thoughts???
  11. Just picked one up at Barnes and Noble...Good Read. Need to find me an RB tranny for my SR swap
  12. Big Thanks qwik510 for the cross member in great shape. Great price and shipped it fast. Would definitely do business with again. Now time to cut it up for the SR...
  13. I remember going to the first MSA show. Was pretty much just a few cars in the parking lot in front of the store, then it blew up to closing down the entire street. Good times...Good times
  14. Howdy, that was my green 510 at the Good Guys show at Del Mar. Just wanted to drop a line and say hey and Thanks.

  15. If it's a good price I would get them and put them in the garage. Looks kick ass now, good stance, offset, design...I vote nay.
  16. Little bit different of a situation but when I brought my 71 Fairlady in from Japan I had to have a VIN verification done (no other inspections) at the CHP. Had an L28 with triple carbs, header, and not a bit of smog equipment to be found and had no issues. The CHP officer that did the inspection even complemented me on the car... See if the guy will let you try and register the car first to see if any problems arise and go from there. If the guy knows it cannot get registered in Cali then it is a shady deal from the start...Just a thought http://www.dmv.ca.gov/pubs/brochures/howto/htvr9.htm
  17. That would also be the Nissan Gazelle...
  18. I am pretty sure they made them, I remember seeing a few pics in thier blog somewhere about how they made them. They do look pretty kick ass...
  19. JDM Legends is out of Utah if I remember correctly. Emailed the guy back and forth a few times...he had a few cars on Ebay a while back. they have some pretty kick ass car pics and a few builds on the site. http://jdmlegends.com/
  20. Damn that sucks, I have had the same Grant steering wheel on my 71 Z for almost 15 years and never had any issues, have one on my 510 as well. Maybe quality control has dropped a bit in recent years with everyone trying to save a buck.
