  1. Sorry I do not, but looks like Rock Auto has them..................... http://www.rockauto....ster%2BCylinder Hmmmmm, doesn't look like the link worked propperly! Just go to 70 510, then transmission - automatic, and you'll see it!
  2. Great idea looking for a wrecked Leaf to yank all the components, to convert another project!
  3. spl310, you & I just talked last week via email thru an eBay listing that I had, and talked about the possible British applications that might help you locate a suitable tube & dipstick. I'm asking around for you too. Have you considered the Lokar products? I believe they offer a "universal fit" tube & dipstick that MIGHT work, that you cut to length................
  4. Yes, I've seen them! I have buddies at a local sheetmetal shop, so I just had them cut from my pattern. Since this is a total budget build on a rusty car, I don't want to spend any mulla, AND I am gonna learn how to weld on it! I'm almost ready to weld on the left side, so more pics soon. Have the Aussie's stepped up to make floor pans?? Their lower front & rear fender patch panels look like they are FAR superior to the "Canadian" panels off the east coast. I bought the Canadian lower rear 1/4 panels, behind the rear wheels, in the past, and they were absolutely awful quality! We bought the same manufacturer "Canadian" floor pans for the Alfa GTV that my buddy & I are restoring, and they too were awful quality. I have been involved on & off in the British restoration parts business for 27 years, and I remember back in the early 80's when I started, that the quality of the patch panels for the popular MGB's & Sprite/Midget's was horrible. Luckily for that market place, the British kept much of the OEM tooling in storage, and when British Motor Heritage was set up, they resurrected all of the tooling, to produce what are now excellent panels. They even produce complete body shells in some cases! Unfortunately, I have heard that the Japanese did not keep anything, so the chances of having "correct" 510 floor pans made is slim, unless somebody steps up and makes the big dollar investment having the proper stamping tooling made. I have looked into it, and I'm not sure that the 510 market would support that kind of investment, as the overall production numbers of the cars is alot lower than most of the British stuff. Hell, what did they make...........5 million Mini's by the end of production!!?? But that market got a l'il boring...................
  5. The other part of this next step is dealing with the major rust in the front floors! Both sides are pretty bad, including the forward section of the inner rocker panel...................
  6. Pedals are ready to go in....................... Manual steering column, lightened & balanced steel flywheel & clutch kit, and slave cylinder......................... Now I just need to decide on using a 280ZX 5 speed, which will require a mod'd driveshaft, BUT is a standard shift pattern............. OR use a Dogleg 5 speed, with the odd shift pattern, but I can use a stock 4 speed driveshaft.............
  7. I finally dug the car back out, and moved it to my workspace! I've been gathering parts for the 5 speed swap, the exhaust, and a few other things.
  8. **I'M PARTING OUT THIS AUTO TRANS IF ANYBODY NEEDS ANYTHING!!** I have a good condition, running & driving, Borg Warner AUTOMATIC transmission setup available, out of a 1970 510 Sedan. I recently changed the fluid, and ran Lucas Trans Conditioner thru it, and it shifts well, but I would recommend "freshening it up", simply due to its age. Trans is "wet & dirty" from age, but is not leaving any puddles of fluid on the floor. Will include ALL PARTS having to do with the auto trans, including the steering column, brake pedal etc etc. TRANS IS STILL IN THE CAR AT THIS TIME, STILL DRIVABLE, but I plan on pulling it out for a 5 speed swap in the next few weeks. If somebody wanted it sooner, I can pull it out within a few days or so. NO PICS, as it is still in the car! $200 + SHIPPING. I believe the only shipping option is via TRUCK FREIGHT on a pallet, due to the weight. Expect $150-250 depending on location.
  9. We don't know at this moment, as my buddy has been on vacation for the last 10 days.........he hasn't even seen it yet! The shell is sealed up in the trailer, at the body shop, and they will take a look at it this coming week. We also have a 42K original mile fully restored-then-smashed California parts car that we bought out of Oregon, but that car took a hard hit in the rear end. It buckled both rear 1/4's, tucking the trunk pan down under the car, and pushed it into another car, thus damaging the front end a little. MY thought at this point, would be to save the CA car, but that decision is up to my buddy! WIll post more, as the tides turn.............
  10. Ohhhhh, man!! I had two of those back in the 90's. They are much rarer than the Honda 50 equivalants, but Suzuki hardly had any parts for them, even in the 90's (Honda still sells lots of parts for theirs!). I was restoring one (the other was a parts bike), yellow chromate plated ALL of the original Suzuki hardware (most of the bolt heads should have the Suzuki "S" on them.......take a look!!), painted the frame black, the wheels Olde English White, and all of the other parts British Racing Green, to match the Mini that I was restoring at the time. When I moved, I sold all of the Suzuki stuff. Wish I had some digital pics for ya!
  11. ............seller here on Ratsun said it was a simple 4 mount unit. Bottom line, I've got a buddy building a tube chassis MG, and he has just started looking for a small compact production car rear suspension setup, that he can modify to suit his needs.
  12. Always loved the "swoopy" styling of the early Toyotas! Don't see many of these..............anywhere!
  13. Someone recently had a rear suspension ASSEMBLY, out of some late model RWD car, that they were looking to sell, and I can't find the listing. Help!!
  14. No, I will NOT be coming to MD to visit my parents..............no! NO!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! ...........and rotate your pics! Wow, screaming deal for someone!! Dave, I emailed Will over at Mountjoys about it too, as they might still be doing the V8 swaps in the MGB's.
  15. I'm using the stock Z-car 14 inch steel wheels, with 195/60 tires. Car has ZX front struts, and is lowered approx 2 inches all around. Close, but no rubbing on the stock fender lips.
  16. A couple of guys have PM'd me asking how much media blasting costs. It depends on how far you want to take it, and if you want them to do the blasting. The Alfa was blasted inside & out, top to bottom, no paint left on the shell. We paid a regional media blaster to do it, and it cost $750. At this particular facility, you can also "rent the room" and do it yourself. You bring your car in ANY state of teardown, they supply a fresh air suit with a hood, and all of the equipment necessary. I blasted my 510 shell on a cart (like the Alfa), HOWEVER I only blasted the complete front 1/3 inside & out, the tops of the floor pans, door jambs, trunk area, all window openings........basically I blasted everything EXCEPT the bottom/underside of the car, the large flat areas like the roof, hood, doors. It was a few years ago, but I remember it costing me around $350, again, for ME to do it in their facility. I also go there once every few months to blast parts. You rent the use of their huge blasting cabinets for something like $20 hour.
  17. Hey Dave, I think my buddy owned that car for a year or two!! The frame rot sounds exactly the same, same year, same color. Small world!! I like big old Fords. Get that frame fixed, and drive that thing as is!! Another buddy & I did a 63-1/2 Galaxie rat rod...........all new suspension, custom ultra wide black steel wheels for that classic Nascar look, freshened up the 302, rebuilt the FMX trans, BUT we left the chaulky faded red body & paint alone.............rarely even washed it. That was a cool ol' cruising machine!!
  18. RIGHT side upper fender rail is still available, as the buyer seems to have fallen thru. DADZSUN, I sent you a PM!
  19. Sad thing is that we've also got a parts car that was a 42K mile CA car, with a full resto, fresh eng/trans/susp, beautiful black interior. Unfortunately, 500 miles after it was completed, the poor guy got slammed in the rear and sandwiched into another car! Collapsed the whole rear 1/3 of that car, and lightly damaged the front end. We could cut & splice 80% of what we need to fix this car, but my buddy doesn't want to cut up that parts car body. Argh. All the other rebuilt/restored parts are supposed to be transfered over to this body. FYI for you Eugene Oregon guys, the parts car was owned & restored by Joe over at Sports Car Shop. It looked like it was a killer car before the accident!
  20. The media blaster charged us an additional $100, cuz there was soooooooooo much bondo in this shell!! More pics..................... And the RH front upper frame rail, with TWO "kinks" in it................
  21. This is a resto project for a buddy. Purchased as a partially stripped down rolling chassis 1973 Alfa Romeo GTV, said to be a CA & AZ car, looked OK when it arrived (buddy bought sight unseen). We had stripped it down the rest of the way at this point, and mounted the shell on a wheeled cart.............. Here's a teaser of how bad the car is, after picking up from the media blaster today. OMG, this is why, if you are buying sight unseen, you ask LOTS of questions, OR most importantly, send a buddy in that area to go look it over! Glad it's NOT my car...................
  22. (Hey Mike, where is the PM icon these days, since the server change??!!)
  23. I have sales PENDING on both upper rails. I'll let you know if one or both falls thru!
  24. Never mind Brian, we're caught up! Talk next week............... TJ
