  1. Are ya done? I will be there if it isn't pissing all over the place. What's the deal with food etc?
  2. I have a G54B I can sell you....fully built and dressed...only 10k....lol
  3. I used Raptor Spray in bedliner. The kit comes with 2 bottles of material which is more than enough to apply two coats. All you need is a compressor and a spray gun to lay it down. Spraying is more effective and covers better than rolling. I have used both methods. Raptor Kit at Wesco is approx. $150 Cheap Spray Gun is approx. $35 at Harbor Freight Under $200 is much less than the garages will cost you to spray in a bedliner. The only prep is to wire wheel the rust spots, spray it out with water, let the bed air dry, then apply above 65-70 degrees.
  4. Is that Bob Ross painting? "Just some pretty little tree's....and a few meadow flowers....yes....just like that. They just love to grow and love life in thier own way...yes...pretty little tree's." Smoke some more Bob...Smoke some more...hahahahahaha......looking good dude!

I can't speak for Doug but mine was painted with a flat black. Wesco carries the paint and it is designed for exterior trim. It lays down nice and even and dries quickly. I can get the name of the paint if your interested. I believe stock grills were all a grey in color.

Doug's truck is real nice. You warm up to the avocado green when you see it in person. We need to talk him into getting rid of the pea shooter though ...hahahahah... :w00t:

The black and white is clean but if I was going to do it over again, I would have chosen a dark marroon with pearl. There is pearl in the clear coat so in the sun it does have a slight off white hue and the pearl pops. Without sun, it is plain old GM white. Thanks for the compliments. BTW - That tonneau cover you see in the pic was my design and if anyone is interested I can give you the details on how it was made.
  8. If the weather is decent, I will join...Datdoug..you should drop by my place on the way up..We can cruise over together...In fact, it's an open invite for all in the neighborhood.

Hey Rick...Glad to hear you are recovering. I understand where you are coming from. I have called Julie Coop and a few of the club members on several occasions and got the run around as well. Julie at least promised me free registration next year. I figure they never recieved the trophies from the vendor or never paid the vendor for what was remaining (2nd and 3rd place) Either way, it's a shitty deal but there are plenty of car shows in the summer months to make up for it.
  10. I have a 620 and played around with the Ellipsoids. The problem with your picture is you have to cut them down (make them shorter) to fit the backside of the projector housing. Cutting these stock buckets to accept a wider body shortens the overall height which minimizes your ability to aim these correctly. There is not enough adjustment and the springs end up being too large. I modified my buckets to their frames and got them to work but could never aim them correclty to where I was satisfied. Misaligned headlights are BS just to get a look. If you can get HID's to fit in the stock buckets with the stock frames, I am interested. No offense but your prototypes look lke those cheap EBAY kits. Lighting is a science not a look. What MM are the lenses, what is the refraction rate, how will you build the housings so they are waterproof and expel heat? You say H3 bulbs but the kelvin and lumens of these H3's performance wise has a lot to do with how the lens is designed or lense you pick, not the other way around. High quality conversions cost hundreds of dollars (and I'm not talking $3-400) and hours of R&D. Not saying you can't do it or don't know what you are doing but selling half ass kits will result in imminent failure and a traffic ticket. That said...I am still interested in the end product.
  11. Welcome to the early 80's. Truck has had a frame off since those pictures were taken. Apples and oranges now.
  12. An old trick us commercial fisherman guys would use is to run diesel through the motor if water is introduced into the internals. Take out the plugs like someone mentioned and spin the motor. Drain all the oil out of it. Fill her up with diesel fuel and spin the motor over by hand. Drain and repeat about 3-4 times. The oil in the fuel displaces the water (they don't mix...I checked...lol) and also lubricates and helps protect the piston walls and rings from instant corrosion. Replace plugs and add 10/40 oil and fire it up. It will smoke. Let it run for 5 minutes. Drain oil again and add regular 10/30 and you should be just fine. This is a cheap preventative measure and I've done it 100's of times. We had a greenhorn who left the oil cap off the top of the main in the skiff and it rained all night. We didn't discover that fuck up till the next morning. After the treatment, the motor ran like a champ with no problems. Diesel is your best friend.
  13. That has to be photochopped.... The weight of the pipe is held by the welds at the angle...no bracing...Those would break over time. Either way..STUPID!

Grind, tighten, or cut the old bolts and duckbill washers and throw them away. They are garbage. See this link on how to build your own. I did this and it worked fantastic. In fact, I have been toying with producing these for sale. It will cost you roughly $40 in parts if you choose to go stainless, which I did. Enjoy! My link

  23. Damn Canby was a good friggin time! There were so many good people I met and to put faces to names was cool. Being my first year it was nice to see fellow enthusiasts be so accomodating to help other guys out. After reading through this thread, I feel like I missed out on a lot of fun discussions and such. Trying to be in the swap meet and the show at the same time took all of my energy going back and forth. Next year, I will just focus on the fun. I managed to sell all of my stuff or give it away to WILDMAN hahahaha. Enjoy that OFFY holmes! I have a shit ton of pictures and will post them as soon as I get them off my camera. Good times were had! I appreciate those who voted for my rig. I managed to get 2nd place in the late truck class. Next year she will have the powerplant, suspension and brakes to show off....... Pumpkin...thanks for your 2 cents on my sleeping bag. Your clownshoes were hilarious. Next time I hope you choke on your moon cabbage...you know what I am talking about....hahahahahha!
