  1. Nothing out of a spray can will take any kind of real paint (short of a few real paint products in a spray can). The solvents in the base and clear will eat up any cheapo stuff. Tell him to go pick up some PPG DP90 from you local paint store. Its flat black and can be painted over later. To do the whole outside of the truck your looking at around $100 or so. Anymore questions that are paint and body related feel free to PM me.
  2. Im running a 215/35/18, they are cheap tires right around $80 a piece.
  3. I doubt they have the backspacing i need to tuck. Plus the 20 inch wheel has to be a 7 inch wheel in the rear to clear the bodyline and the inward curve at the top of the bed. With the front running a 7 inch wheel, and the same back spacing as my 8 inch wheel, i gain an inch of fender clearance, which means i can ride lower :D Im trying to work out a sponsorship with my buddy, so price isnt too much of a concern. Just need to get the truck in paint before he goes to the boss man about it.
  4. Im pretty sure he had boyds, not intros. Ill have to check into that though.
  5. Oh and if anyone need a hook up on Intro wheels, just let me know. One of our club member is their top selling salesmen, and give me and my buds nice discounts.
  6. The QX56 will more than likely end up on project drag whore (my current parts truck). I doubt anyone wants to pay $800 for the wheels and tires (a little less than i have in them), plus shipping to where ever. The only reason it would be $800 is because these wheels and tires have never seen the road.

    18's

I paid $400 shipped for brand new dealer take offs. Then $400 for tires mounted and blanced (cheap tires, Nankangs). Im getting my billets soon, then these wheels are gonna go on my body dropped project: project drag whore :D
  8. Which wheels sould i get for my truck????? Im going to be running a 18x7 in the front and a 20x7 in the rear. The 20x7 is going to be completely custom made, they are going to use a 20x8.5 and narrow it for me. I should be ordering them in the next week or two. For those that dont know my truck here it is: Number 1 Number 2 Number 3
  9. You are running a 215/35/18 right????? That should tuck BDed to the rocker (not pinch, true rocker), at least from all the measurments ive done. Its going to be tight, might even touch the top of the fender. I cant wait to get mine done, so i can start on my next BDed datsun project.
  10. I know a guy thats looking for a 520 windsheild, PM me and ill get you with him
  11. Theres actually 2 holes in the rocker. The forward hole is where i had to cut a window to fix the body mount rust (the rocker is getting replaced anyways). The rear hole I made because i dropped my piece of sheet metal for the body mount down into the rocker (I didnt feel like turning the cab again). :D :D The paint is just spray bomb satin black. I just wanted it all one color for the show, and it was only about $15. When it goes to the blaster its all coming off anyways. As far as having something to cover bodywork up for a while, there is not really a good option. You can epoxy prime or prime things but niether are supposed to be exposed to the elements for more than a short period ot time. (a month or less is better). Leaving primers exposed to the elements does not always have a bad effect, but sometimes it does. Ive had cars that come out awesome that have been in primer for well over a year, but some come out with wierd shrinkage problems. But as far as primers i use PPG DP90 epoxy, and K36 high build.
  12. Here us pushing it to drive through judging, i didnt even realize that hotrides took a pic of this. Ever drag the grass with 2hp (human power). :D :D :D
  13. Hotridesmag.com coverage just for the hell of it: The writing on the fender says "Teds Auto Body 770-621-9999" thats our shop and number. I think i might ghost it into the paint, since its where the factory emblem goes, havent decide yet though.
  14. Well the show rocked, i had so much fun!!!!!!! Heres some more shots, ill get more up of the body mounts being replaced when i get some time to upload them. I think mini truckin and sport truck shot it for show coverage, im not to sure though. I know hotridesmag.com, dropjawmag.com, and gaugemagazine.com shot it for their show coverage too. Body Shot 4 Link Wheel Tubs and raised clutch master cylinder
  15. Got bored today and added some red striping just hell of it.
  16. Na I didnt get the bed on yet. I dont want to rush into cutting it up. Heres what i did get back on it though.
  17. Im ready for Spring Fling now, i cant wait till friday!!!!!!!!
  18. Ready to roll down to spring fling!!!!!!!!! Cant wait, its gonna be a blast!!!
  19. This truck is a very clean too! I hate rust......... No, i think the KA might not even be out of the other car yet. Ill get some as soon as i get it!!!!!!!!!!
  20. Well i got a bunch of stuff done over the last week, and a bunch of pics. Just not on this comupter. I finished the driver side wheel tub, fixed the rusty fender, and pulled the cab off the frame to fix the very rusted out body mounts, and the area right around the mount on the floor, Im almost done with that now. Now i need to get ready to take it to its first show. Next weekend im going to trailer my truck down to Florida for the Spring Fling. Ive had a lot of interest in the mini truckin community and there are a bunch of my club meembers want to see it. Maybe ill get some show coverage in mini truckin......;) Im really going to try and get a bed back on it before then, but if i dont, oh well. Ill get some pics up soon, and ill let you know how the show went.
  21. I went and looked at the motor and heard it run today. 80,000 miles, runs sweet, and im picking up the complete swap for $300 (motor, trans, ecu, harness, mounts, drivshaft). The guy has a 500hp 2JZ supura motor going in his 240, just insane. Icehouse i might need some help coming up with a truck oil pan an pickup tube if you know where one might be, its hard to come by parts like that around here. Georgia sucks, all private yards and only one pull-a-part thats not even that great. Its going to be a very tight fit, but really my only concern is the exhaust manifold hitting the steering column. If it does im thinking ill only have to make a custom header, or maybe even just an aftermarket header would help me. I cant wait to get the motor, maybe ill turbo is eventually.
  22. I did get the linkage done today, but didnt get a chance to snap any pics. Ill get some asap when i put the pedal assembly back in. Its basically just a "Z" of the original rod, simple but effective.
  23. No, there is no reason to shorten the reservoir. Its still under the stock hood by a few inches. Im much more worried about trying to keep the KA24e under the hood than the clutch resevoir. This swap will be coming in the next few weeks. I will keep yall updated!!!!!!!!!
  24. Well i had a little time at the end of the day to work on my truck. Im moving the clutch master cylinder up about an inch and 3/4 or so. It gives me much more room to the tire, and will ease my mind about the tire hitting the new inner fender and burning the paint off. heres some pics Previous location, to close for comfort: Pattern for new hole, hole made: Ill post some pics of the new linkage tomarrow.
