  1. Sorry it has taken me so long to get back to all of you, Over the past few months i have gotten married, spent a month in europe on my honeymoon, and bought a new house. Things have gotten pretty hecktic. I still have all the parts i had listed in my forum topic, I dont get on here much so if your interested in any of these parts still, please call of text me @ 7seven0-3eight3-5four2nine dwight The only thing i dont have is the qx56 wheels and tires.....i sold the tires and put the wheels on my titan
  2. I have a brand new pilkington classics 521 windshield im trying to sell. I paid a little over 500 for it shipped. Ill let it go for $400. Pilington classics had 15 of them sent from europe about 7 years ago. It took them almost 6 years to sell them. The 1st one they sent me was shattered, so make that 14. They still make them in europe, but due to low demand they have no plans of having anymore brought from overseas. At least thats what they said to me when i talked to them 2 weeks ago. If anyone is interested PM me.
  3. If ive talked to you through pm's already please re-message me. If your interested in parts, pm me please.
  4. Sorry it took me so long to get my pictures, sometimes life gets in the way. I was going to post all these pics< but theres too many. Heres a link to my album: http://imageshack.us/g/716/picture001yd.jpg/ Any questions feel free to ask.
  5. This thread is not locked because the moderators of the site have seen me on here since it was started. They know i am extemely busy building high end classic and custom cars (which is why i scraped my project.....no time) and I dont get on here much. If you dont like it, stay out of my thread and dont buy my parts. My pm box was full, so anyone that i havent responded to yet please pm me again. All these parts are in my fathers basement, and im getting by there to get pics this weekend. Sorry for any lack of repsonse on my parts, working 18 hour days trying to finish this project has been killing me. I want these parts to goto someone that will use them, as i am an automotive enthusiast. I dont need any keyboard commandos in my thread who werent going to buy anything anyways...........
  6. Draker....................... I may be a failure, but I'm still yur daddy. You really shouldn't talk to your father that way. LoL Actually I'm pretty upset about cutting it up. But hey, I just made everyones 521`s a little more valueable. Ill get another one one day when I have the time it can get the attention it deserves
  7. It was my project that I just didn't have time to get to in the forseeable future, and I damn sure wasn't gonna sell it and see someone else finish it. You can see pics of it in the trucks section "bagged 521 on 18's"
  8. Well, since I cut up my 521 and sent it to the grave yard, I have a bunch of 521 parts I need to get rid of. I have basically everything off the truck in boxes on the shelf. Everything is off a 69 model that was an extemely clean low miles truck. Pretty much all in excellent condition. Here some of the highlights I can think of. -brand new 520-521 windshield -520 dash -near perfect steering wheel -near perfect complete grill -18 inch qx56 wheels with brand new 215/35/18 tires -all very clean glass -all electrial switches -beebani disk brake brackets (new never installed) Like I said, I have a whol truck in boxes, so anything you may need just ask. I'm not going to beat anyone up on prices, just need these parts to find a new home. Let me know hat ya need and ill give you a fair price.
  9. Sorry to say I put an end to this project. Not enough time or motivation to keep it going. Been busy doing too much customer work, Ive burned myself out. I cut the truck into pieces and sent it to the scrap yard. I know you all will hate me but if i cant finish it, no one can. I would hate to see it done by someone else and see what i could have had. I have a bunch of parts left that id be looking to sell. Wheels, 520 dash, BRAND NEW windshield, and many misc parts. Ill get a list together and post it soon. One day ill get another one, its just not in the cards right now. Dwight AcrophobiA GA
  10. Thats what i told the guy when i bought the car. I said "im gonna have a hard time trying to find somewhere to use that surf board here". Oh well, maybe its a omen telling me to move back to cali.
  11. Thanks for all the compliments. Im pretty sure im gonna have to bag it. Its cool as it is, but bagged would be even cooler.
  12. I got a new daily. 67 bug, clean 2 owner car, original paint, very little rust. Rebuilt 1600cc dual port motor, 6 inch narrowed beam, spindels, lowered 1 notch in the rear. Im not gonna to a whole lot to it other than drive it. I really love the patina that it has right now. I am going to paint the area under the trim and between the fenders. I havent decided on a color yet; red, burgandy, tourquise, im just not sure yet. Also the surfboard will get painted. Maybe a little pin striping too.
  13. Well, since everyone i know had been bugging me to work on my truck recently. I finally found a little bit of time to get a little work done. Still working on the hardbody clip, and ive got one side pretty much buttoned up except for the bag mounts and shock mounts which will come later. Trimmed the engine crossmember and reboxed it: What it used to look like: This gave me plenty of room for the lower control arm to come up on full drop: Full Lift: Also i trimmed the old shock mount off and capped the upper control arm mount: Old mount:
  14. Yeah there are a few ways to clean it. Warm soapy water is the only thing that works. heres some more info for you: http://spi.forumup.org/viewtopic.php?t=156&mforum=spi This is what all my paint reps have told me, and even if the car is cleaned properly, they will no warranty any of their products you may use. I hope you dont have any problems with your because its already looking badass!! So your going KA powered??? KA24e or LA24de?????
  15. I sure hope you did something to nuetralize the metal after the soda blasting. if you didnt, your going to run into some severe adhesion problems very soon. On a side note. No paint manufacturer will ever warranty any of their product if your vehicle was soda blasted. Car looks great!!!! Keep up the good work!!!!!
  16. Sorry for the lack of updates guys, there hasnt been much progress recently. My projects always seem to get put off for other peoples. Ive been restoring a 60 VW bug for a local guy recently, and finishing up a 69 chevelle at work. I was planning on getting to work on it this weekend but a few things got in the way. Expect some updates next weekend, if not yall stay on my ass and get me motivated again!!!! I got something for you at least: 69 chevelle - I replaced both 1/4's, tail-light panel, floor pans, rust repair in doors and fenders, did all the bbody work, and paint. Now onto putting it all back together.
  17. If your goal is to lay on those 20's, i highly suggest using a comletely different clip to acheive this. Yota or hardbody will work, it will just need to be narrow a good bit. Check out my build thread for the pics of the hardbody clip i am doing. The stock datsun arms are far to narrow to achieve that huge drop and lift you will need to lay on those 20's. If you do hack enough of the frame to get the arms to even allow you to lay, you will be maxing your balljoints. The next big problem you will have is getting the lift you need. The upper arm will hit the bag if its placed in a conventional spot.
  18. I just died a little when i saw that pic...............
  19. I would highly recommend that you read into this article by bio max before deciding on a 2 link. Hes got a whole forum on SSM with loads of useful information on suspension setup and design. http://www.streetsource.com/forum/topic.aspx?topic_id=85853&Page=1 I presonally would never use a 2 link. For the little bit of extra work and expense of a 4 link you gain so much. Much more tunability, and performance oriented design. Yes there are people that will say "our trucks only have 90hp so performance doesnt matter to me". When ever i design a suspension, it is supposed to be better than stock. I love to take my bagged trucks down winding roads and be capable of entering and leaving a turn at high speeds. Low HP numbers do no mean that our trucks cannot preform. Work looks great so far!!!
  20. a setup in a 4x4 is also not adjustable. When you throw in changing your ride height, it changes everything. Im not bashing your truck by any means, im just trying to give you some info so that you can make an informed decision before you get too far. If you want to keep it reverse, you just need to be aware of the downfalls. If you were to move it forward, there are no downfalls. Also, i do believe max stated in his artticle that a poorly designed forward 4 link is better than the best designed reverse 4 link.
  21. Lazy is deff not a strong term. It is so simple to move the tank, there is no "oh, i think it looks cool", reverse links dont look cool, they look wrong, and they act wrong. It comes down to pure ignorance about how a suspension works. Reverse a "well designed" suspension, and it becomes a "poorly designed" suspension in reverse. It doesnt matter how correctly you think your reverse 4 link is setup, it is still wrong. period.
  22. reverse links cause horrible handling and braking characteristics. With the upper links so short, it will cause your pinion angle to go way outta wack with the leverege setup of you bag placement. You will NEVER EVER hear anything about a reverse 4 link setup in any type of print suspension books. The reverse 4 link is only used by minitruckers that are to lazy to move the gas tank and use a proper 4 link setup. I would highly recommend that you move your tank, and setup a proper 4 link. Rear end looks nice!
  23. but seriously, a kill switch hidden somewhere around the vehicle is about the best you can do.
  24. Since my datsun doesnt even run right now, i protect it with this: If someone did decide to get it outta my shop, and get it about 1000 meters down the street i got that covered too  :
