  1. Yeah I used this small $20 can of this Japanese glass paint. I bought it at some import shop. Here's some old pics of when I first did mine about 16 months ago. One thing to remember is that this paint doesn't hold up to the sun all that well. They faided pretty bad so I just hit them up again with a few coats and they're good as new. Beats paying big bucks to get the 'look'. Here they are before: First Coat: Second Coat: Third Coat: Fourth Coat: Fifth Coat (ran out): All Dry On Dime:
  2. Jester, it makes perfect sense. Just because one goes to college, any college, let alone an institution as prestigious/expensive as Harvard most students there who are lucky to be there are only able to afford it because of scholarships, grants, and loans (lots of them). Just because college is expensive doesn't mean you have lots of money, it just means you're investing (with loans) in your future to pay off that education debt then making more after that to make it worthwhile in the first place. Hell even I didn't have money to go in on pizza when my roommates were ordering, so I had to make do with what little I had or earned working part time while I went to school full time. Plus like Kanye West said, "But while y'all washin', watch him He gon' make it to a Benz out of that Datsun"
  3. Not mine but look to be a good deal for someone in So Cal. especially for $80! http://sandiego.craigslist.org/nsd/pts/904912283.html 16" factory chrome rims from a late model Chevrolet / GMC pickup with the 6 lug ( 6 x 5.5 pattern). Should fit just about any 6 lug truck. Definately will fit all 6 lug Nissan/Datsun (I had them on my 1973 Datsun pickup) Tires are Michelin Symmetrys 225/60R16, I bought them used, but they have several thousand miles still left in them, i.e. not bald,no leaks, and recently balanced. Ready to mount and go! Call 760 - 494 - 7230
  4. Damn, where's Jukeizm when you need him? Hahaha no seriously look Dependable Auto Shipper (DAS). My girl used them when she shipped her (gasp) Honda Accord from Northern Virginia to Nor Cal. It was about 2 years ago and it was around $800 so it might be a bit more now. She has nothing but good things to say about them, it was here on time, no damage, good tracking but as with any service your mileage may vary. I suggest you look them up and ask for an estimate.
  5. Try these $5 off coupon codes for spreadshirt: DEALTAKER.COM (set to expire 10/1/08) or THANKYOU (not sure if it's still good or when it will expire)
  6. Take it easy MadMax, don't go all Jukeizm on us with the :fu:'s!
  7. I think this guy is thinking he's doing us a favor by pointing these Datsuns for sale...I don't think he means he's selling them. Looks to be a cut and paste job from the CL ads. Good intentions, poor execution :P
  8. Hmmm, this is interesting since I got a call from a local Nor Cal guy wanting to trade me some other 510 parts for my 521 wheels I was recently selling. He did make a comment about "not liking to do business with most other 510 owners around here" so that is what rung a bell...I'm glad I sold it to some other guy who paid me cash instead of trading. It's not like I have a huge stash of parts anyway but still I can see how this could affect those with garage fulls of parts.
  9. Ok I looked them over but there's no offset stamping on it so I measured the backspacing and it's 3 5/8". Clayton: Cool...hopefully you'll be back driving your rides soon!
  10. Hey that's good to know...thanks Clay! What have you been up to man...you should give me a call. Are you heading over to the Lathrop meetup this weekend? What's the status of your Datsuns?
  11. Hey fellas, sorry for the late response (thanks to the firewall at work I can't check Ratsun from work anymore :(...oh well) I'll get you guys the offset info tomorrow. Yeah I should check the local aluminum rate...:) Thanks...oh and I live in Sunnyvale CA to answer one of your questions.
  12. Umm do you mean $50 down and the rest if they fit your 620? Sorry just don't quite understand your post. :)
  13. Hey fellas, well since I sold my truck I now have some parts I'm putting up for sale. I have a set of four 15"x7" aluminum 6 lug wheels. Here's some pictures for you to decide if they look good or not. No curb rash but there are some scratches on the clear coat. Oh and no I don't have the center caps...sorry. Located in Sunnyvale for pick up or can ship at cost (I wouldn't charge more than it really cost to ship, plus I have a UPS account so it's cheaper to ship using UPS than the post office most of the time!) Asking $150 obo or trade for 13" wheels (4x114 bolt pattern). I also have a unique side mounted diamond plate tool box. It's brand is Dee-Zee Platinum Series (?). It has a hinged door inside to allow for 2 seperate compartments. It's pretty slick. I've already had a few flake buyers from craigslist so I figure on seeing if any fellow Ratsuners want it. Asking $150 obo...just shoot me an offer :) Or again trade for 13" wheels (4x114 bolt pattern)
  14. I'm SO glad others are on to this guy. I like to think of Ratsun being a forum for enthusiast to help each other out, not for a guy trying to profit from other's generosity of selling thier parts for less then turning around and selling them for a lot more, simply to profit. What annoys me like it did to some others is how shady he was clearly trying to be. I totally agree with MKlotz, I would have respected it if he would have just sold things under his own name and backed up any 'bs' from those that think the price may be high. I mean that's how I do it. I got plenty of that when I was selling my 521 truck but I answered all the questions I got honestly and in the end I sold it for my asking price. I totally saw that his last 2 ebay "finds" were him since he put his name and number on the descriptions...I was just not out to keep beating a dead horse but sure enough here we are again on the same topic. Anyway that's just my 2 cents and Johnny don't even bother with your 'haterade' or flipping off or vulgar PMs...I'm done with you but I'm just glad your outted as a profiteering ratsun member...maybe the mods should consider a ban for such behavior?
  15. Hey I got your text message. Glad to hear you can drive your goon again. So were the forms I got for you all you needed? :)
  16. Sounds like a good deal for a smogged good running Z, at least I think... http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sby/cto/804979622.html EDIT: I guess the poster is confused, that's an 87 style right? Maybe fake ad? Hmmm :P
  17. I'm curious to find out if anyone here that has any experienced buying a car/truck (i.e. handing over cash and signing the title tranfer) then at a later date going back to get the previous owner to smog it (after the sale is final and done)? We know what the DMV says but in real life situations how many of us know anyone that this scenario has played out for and what happend. I personally do not know of anyone doing so. I'm not saying it's right but I just do not see the previous owner going that far to help out what in my view is a completed sales transaction. So it just serves as a warning, never complete a car sale without a valid smog!! :)
  18. Then how do you explain tons of used cars on craigslist and the such as-is and they leave it up to the new buyer/owner to smog it? That requirement is never enforces, it's meant as a standard but not everyone follows it...therefore it's up to the buyer to demand the smog from the previous owner before taking possesion of any vehicle...after that the sale is complete and it's up to them.
  19. Ok let me back up here a little bit and say this...all smog tests results in California are sent to the DMV in real time so that smog certificate paper copy is really not needed to register it. You could go to get it smogged this morning, get your hard copy smog certificate and go to the DMW and register the vehicle later the same day without the paper copy in hand since the DMV would already have it on their system that it has been smogged...but *if* this guy simply asked you if you already smogged it and you said yes but no time line of when it was smogged (hence the 90 days issue) was established and he assumed (a mistake on his part) you recently smogged it...he may have been under the assumption that he didn't need to get the smog papers from you. I'm just saying that may be something to consider..either way I would tend to say the seller needs to beware and not assume things, especially when dealing with a private vehicle sale.
  20. Ok just wondering...it it was a teen I would say give the kid a break, I'm sure he didn't know better but by 27 years old, he should have known better than handing you the money and signing the documentation all without a smog.
  21. Just out of curiosty how old is the new buyer?
