Took my carb outside to reinstall after freshing some of it up and realized I don't have a new gasket for the air cleaner housing adapater. Covered everything up and went inside to kill zombies instead.

Took my weber apart to check my jets it's been running rich. yeah, they are all screwed up. Then my three year old got into my little pile of carb parts and lost the dust shield! After freaking out for a couple hours I finally found it. Reassembly tonight I hope! oh and I adjusted my head lights so they aren't point 3 feet in front of me.

I'm sure you guys have probably seen it already but there are two vids on youtube of a SUUUUUPER slick black Z with a v8 swap. That car is as cool as it gets.

I like the one on the rear a lot. Just personal opinion but not so much on the hood for some reason. Hmmm, maybe farther up the hood? Oh and yeah I like the wheels a lot better now too!

I'm sure a refresh would probably be the way to go but if your like me and patient (insert other words at your will like stupid noobish etc) I would be saying LETS BOLT IT ON AND GO FOR A RIDE YEEEE HAH! :D

dimedude you even found new metal already painted orange! Nice! Worked with my carb a bit. It's seems to be putting out too much gas. Opened up the valve cover again only to find my guage does 20 28 and 30 but no 25. :mad:

I looked at pictures of mine today. It's still sitting in a field down at my Dad's house because it wont work properly. Comply, I'm vaguely close to you, I'll come pick it up and drive it trailer it back to my house. You can mail me the title. :D

Took my intake/carb and header off to helicoil one of the exhaust stud holes. Looks like I'll be doing two of them as one other looks pretty boogered up too. Going to order the stud kit because i think using bolts instead is what's slowly messing these up. Oh well, good opportunity to clean up my header and paint it. It's pretty ugly. I WAS going to take the head off to do this but dang it I don't want too. Also going to see if I can sneak the front cover off to check my chain.

Man I want to rally so bad but not in my datsun. A friend of mine and I are thinking of buying a beater for that or 24 hours of lemons. We don't want to win just race! :lol: Keep the vids coming.

I ordered a head gasket so here we go I gyess. No I'm not 100 percent sure on the valve I did get the right feeler finally yesterday (what do you mean you want a metric one lol) so I can check them. I would have THOUGHT anyway that taking the oil cap off I would have heard it more. I even used a tube to try and verify and I'd say I'm probably 80 percent sure it's chain on the slack side guide. I wonder if maybe the time the tensioner popped out possibly I bent that guide or something? I didn't notice but that was my first time ever in an engine that deep. Frickin scary that is. :D I'll also try hainz suggestion to check turn the crank clock wise and put tension on the chain and ck the slack side for slop. otherwise I think you ust turned the crank counter clock wise but yea it looks loose.

I like it, are you going to fill in that area with grill, fiberglass, leave it?

Indy510 I'll try to weigh them on something that doesn't suck but they feel really light. A pic is posted a few posts up.

I'm experiencing a pretty scary sounding ticking coming from the front of the motor. The ticking is very random but doesn't go away. This chain look too loose? I opened the oil cap for a few seconds and the noise doesn't appear to be coming from valves. I asked a few on the realm but it was in my old "it lives" post so I didn't get very many responses so I thought I'd add it here. The other side is good and tight. If you haven't read any of my posts I just recently put the head back on.

What would be considered light with a tire on it? Obviously the tire size etc matters but just generally speaking. I took my wheel off tonight, it has a dunlop on it and with our crappy bathroom scale it ways either 21 or 25 pounds I can't get it to pick between the two lol.
