  1. Haha if i can get ahold of the file i could probally get some cut out, all my friends that were cutting me stuff have since graduated though! Even if i can get you the plates youll still have to figure out a better to make the sliding portion.
  2. I have the origanal set i made on my car, however because of how i have it setup with the bags and trying to get it low, the camber is "fixed" as negative as itll go. I still have a wood template you could photocopy and put into cad or something if you want, and if you really wanted i miigghhtt be able to get the file if he still has it and you could use it to cut out plates
  3. When looking for weights this was the first thing i came accross..... http://ls1tech.com/forums/conversions-hybrids/1412014-ka24de-240sx-s14-vs-ls1-240sx-s14-weight-difference-inside.html intersting considering the weight is always everyones first argument
  4. Just a heads up... Your gunna get shot down so fast for even mentioning a v8 in a 510, i personally dont care, i think either if done CORRECTLY would be sweet
  5. My dad went to town on the back of my car, its way straighter now, fix the rust in the rockers and its almost ready for primer and bondo. I tapped into my intake mani so i could finally balance them I changed up my timing a bit, now that all the runners are tapped i combined all 4 and am pulling constanct advance at idle and right off idle, this allowed me to retard it a bit more and still have it run decent down low. and having all 4 combined makes my bov work a little better There still not balanced perfectly but i dont have those random pops out the carbs anymore which is good ill post pics as soon as photobucket decides to start working again
  6. so i finally got around to tapping into each intake runner lastnight, and tried building my own sync tool like the bike guys do. Curious if anyone else has had luck with this method? and what you did? After i attempted it and sucked a lot of oil into my motor i decided that i needed a much larger scale one for it to work
  7. i figure if im going to put all that work into it, i mine as well pick up a set that doesnt have bent up linkage, a bent up choke that sticks and two broken float bowl screw tabs that are fixed with jb weld and leak a little! i ordered 160 mains lastnight, gunna drop from 175s, and one of these days in the upcoming week im gunna pull my intake and weld a nipple to each runner so i can properly balance them. The little things that i used to blow off are really starting to bug me for some reason.
  8. Thanks for the link! damn those things are not cheap!
  9. So ive been doing a little research lately, to those that still look at this thread what do you think about this l20b block bored 2mm over to fit dished sr20det pistons with z22e rods giving roughly 3mm deck clearence (if i calculated it all right) Have the crank and rods machined for new bearings, and have the rotating assembly lightened and balanced. That just about wraps up the bottom end. I was thinking an open chamber u67 head, but as far as valves and cam etc im still reseaching that stuff. I had heard or read about at one point that someone makes metal headgaskets for the l series, i cant seem to find them, can anyone else confirm this? a link meybe? And of course if i got around to actually doing and affording all this work i would build a much nicer header and intake system, plumb an intercooler in find a different set of carbs, revamp the fueling system and hope to run 12lbs. Any input appreciated
  10. When its acutally running good and driveable ill try and get some video of it! Haha i totally forgot about that! i was in a time crunch though, jeffs in everett, vs olympia!
  11. Thanks to Jeff (icehouse) i picked up some strut assemblys for a damn good price lastnight. i started pulling it apart tonight but didnt feel like grinding and welding so of course i started playing with how to go lower, also a picture of my aerosport strut assembly since i had tons of people ask before and i have it apart. and i took the beamer for its first test drive the other day!
  12. The real shitty part is one they didnt give any warning signs of going and two I just replaced them this summer, they had a 90 day watranty of course I was 2 weeks outside that, o got the expensive ones this time, doing all four corners....again
  13. Well the last couple days have not been very good, i had a wheel bearing explode an hour away from home, then i fucked up my air damn loading it on the tow dolly, then today unloading it... i guess i didnt learn my lesson and i ripped it off, luckily i know a guy good with glass work, and when i finally got around to taking it apart, my spindle and hub are junk.. sweet
  14. after doing one intake i feel like i could do another one way better and easier, but to anyone whos seen my header hahaha i agree, hard!
  15. well, i guess ill start with a dry and wet comp test, thats probally the easiest thing to check first, and i need to get my carbs synced (i know i know im lazy) but there nearly impossible to adjust on the car
  16. Okay so i feel kinda dumb for asking this but... On downshift and decel i started smelling oil, its not visible yet but i definately smell it (open Down pipe at my feet), One is that rings or valves?, and two.. long shot but.. could my carbs being WAY out of sync cause excess vaccum pulling oil past the rings?? i havent done a comp test yet, but i thought of that driving the other day even though in the back of my head i know its gotta be boost taking its toll on my motor, which sucks cause i only have around 3k on it!
  17. Not much to report lately, just been driving as a daily, im gunna have to pull it in soon and do a bunch of up keep here soon. I noticed today that in the last 13 months ive put 22,000 miles on it, plus a month out of those 13 with no speedo. I started re-engineering my turbo setup for better effiency since it was brought to my attention that it is far from it (i was gunna wait til this winter when i build a motor but oh well) One big problem though... On downshift and decel, with my window open, i smell oil... its not visible but i definately smell it, is this rings of valves? Also curious if my carbs being way out of sync could cause excess vaccum pulling oil past the rings? long shot but who knows, havent done a comp test yet, I think ill post this question in the r1 thread as well.
  18. Did you ever get around to shimming the motor? i dont know how you managed two oil pans lol i put over 1000 miles on that car with no problems! Dont raise it up.. just do what tristin said and build a skid plate! And good luck selling those wheels! They had brand fricken new tires on em! haha
  19. Arlington pull apart, anyone know whos it is? it was pretty rough but i thought it was pretty sweet
  20. I know, it looks a lot better with the rack lowered!
