  1. All bolt in? Or welding fab require?
  2. Dang it! The things we got away in earlier years when we had more time and flexibility, than we had money and 2nd thoughts. Much appreciated.
  3. Also, did you use the tilt wheel 720 column or non-tilt column?
  4. I’m still intrigued by this mechanical/ hydraulic conversion. Was the 720 column the correct shorter length that bolted right up to the box and dash? Did you end up using the 720 locking ignition, turn sig switch and clam shell? What was it you thought might not have been done very well? Did the column look out of place? Or just the home-made pump brackets?
  5. I bought a 3 row, all metal from O'Rileys 3-4 years ago. As I recall from my Datsun dealer AC installation days... the 620 Nissan brand condensers always mounted behind the grill, and in front of the Rad Core support.
  6. One never knows what direction a thread will take, simply by sharing some old magazine ads.
  7. 816593307039616 expires on June 17, 2018
  8. Wouldn't your oil pressure drop if you ran a single weight thin oil in extreme heat??? We always ran thicker oil in our hot environment in the 70's.
  9. Oooh, swapping out a steering column, steering box, and fabbing a pump/reservoir installation is certainly more work for sure. Has anyone done a thread on a Saturn Ion install in a 620?
  10. Why electric, whats’s the advantages? I saw an electric PS on a 521, and the motor was hanging low over the foot pedals. At 6’4” and size 13 shoes I really didn’t care for it.
  11. Did the 280ZX steering box use same mounting holes, or did you have to make a bracket or drill holes in frame?
  12. PS, when I installed AC for Econo Motors Datsun in the desert we always re-installed the gator shields, and foam tape sealed around radiators and between rad and hood.
  13. Growing up in Riverside CA desert heat, and where few pickup drivers secure their loads...I vote to call it the Alligator shield (tire scraps, fiberglass body chunks, disintegrated aluminum ladders, etc.) I like Noramost's suggestion, extra fan blade.Standard L20b clutch fan has 7 blades. 620 AC clutch fan has 8 blades to increase air flow, exact same as a 1980 200SX L20b a little bit shorter blades, and a little less pitch to reduce noise.
  14. It doesn't take long to saw up a couple 4x4 blocks to chock the wheels, until you have time to fix the p-brake B)
  15. That’s hilarious and fun. Hand painted art in the engine bay, Definitely, unique Customization, and doesn’t take away from the originality of the vehicle. I like it. I once had a stock 2 year old Toy prerunner that was stolen from my apartment garage. Cops found it and asked me to identify it. Thieves had removed all contents, swapped body VIN tags, repainted it, Dyed the interior a diff color, screwed a giant aftermarket tach into the dash, removed the tow hitch, trailer, plug, and every other accessory i’d added. Cops had acid washed the frame and got the VIN numbers to appear where the thieves had ground out the frame VIN numbers. They wanted my personal identification, and I couldn’t make it. Finally I found a little hand-made L bracket Tucked up under the frame that held the aftermarket trailer plug. It was the only thing I could identify on the truck as mine. You’ll definitely be able to identify that vehicle as yours, at a glance.
  16. Maybe it doesn’t have any widows either, so he doesn’t need wipers or a defogger ?
  17. That is one trippy alternator! What old hippie did you buy that from? It's so funky I like it.
  18. I tried to PM you but it says you are not accepting PM's. You put my phone number in your phone at Eagle Rock under Hugh: ER & SWDP BBQ
  19. Stanley has a twin brother!
  20. 1985 4x4 720 in the Oceanside, CA Pick a Part. As of yesterday it still had motor, trans, drive train, running gear, wheels & tires. Grill, dash cap, console, side lights, mirrors were gone.
  21. Go to the swap meet, Harbor Freight, pep boys, etc and buy a single 12mm wrench, cheap. Quality is not important. Heat it with a torch, &/or bend it in a vice, Grind the sides thin, &/or grind down the leges of the open ends a bit, until you customize it to reach the carb nuts easier.
  22. Over the past 2-3 years I’ve found 3 of those steering wheels in junk yards, $ 22 ea with the hub. Kept one for each of my vehicles and sold the 3rd. I can keep my eye out for you if you’re interested. There is a regular seller at the Eagle Rock swap meet that usually has one or two. If I recall he prices them from $75-100 depending on cond.
  23. You will definitely regret putting a smaller dial steering wheel on your motor home, unless you seriously enjoy an upper body workout whenever you drive it. a If you’re considering the 720 brake upgrade, and want a quicker alternative than a power steering upgrade, you might consider a 720 ST steering wheel. Although the skinny brown fake wood on the orig 620 steering wheel looks good and is classic Datsun, the skinny wheels are hard to grab and turn while wrestling with it turning the vehicle around or backing in and out of a parking\ camping spot. The 720 wheels are twice as thick, insulated with rubber, don’t slip thru sweaty hands, and way easier to hold onto on cold mornings. If you have a lot of patience, you can also recover the rubber with a leather kit from Pep Boys.
  24. Robert, I sent you a PM re a fresh 720 parts truck close to you I just saw online. There’s a possibility it might have a tach? If you’re good online and aren’t afraid of matching up parts and shipping, I also find RockAuto sells inexpensive 720 aftermarket parts like bearings, seals, suspension parts, belts, etc. But you have to buy enough from one location to make the shipping cost worth it. And you risk having to ship it back if you make a wrong choice picking your part. Good luck.
