    Datsun Speedometer with KA24DE

Hey guys I've read the forums and saw that by using a 1980's 300z Speedo cable, my stock speedometer should work with my 1996 KA24DE. Can any of you confirm? If it won't fully function I may end up purchasing a S14 speedometer.

    Radiator options

I ended up using a stock 1979 620 radiator. Works fine!.... so far....

    Radiator options

Oh I see.... I don't have my radiator from my 79 620. I was trying to just purchase one that would require minimal fabrication other than the brackets.

    Radiator options

Hey guys I'm almost done with my KA24DE swap. I've tried researching what radiator would work best on my 620, but found no luck. Any suggestions on which radiator would work best?

As if I didn't know this already, But even if I swapped a KA into my 620 there's still complimentary parts that I would need to purchase in order to fully perform the swap. I was thinking of leaving this one with the original engine and later getting a pre-smog 510 and performing the swap.

Only reason is, my L20B is very strong. And i have a 1979...&&&& CA SMOG RULES SUCK ASS
  8. IF IF IF I decide to keep my L20B... remember I have a 5 speed L20B 1979 620 completely stock (hence my username), Would you recommend the following? A87 Swap add dual side drafts (Mikuni 44) Replace my pistons (recommendations here!) Upgrade my Cam (Recommendations here too!) Header Swap and dual exhaust. anything else to enhance the performance? What should I anticipate as far as HP? Are there any alternatives? My goal is reliability and performance.

yikes haha Why do you all like to go on rants? Argue with your wife fellas...
  10. After consideration. I have decided to swap my stock L20B to a KA24DE engine with transmission. But of course I have a few question. I have viewed Mikes swap and I am VERY MOTIVATED! As of today, everything is stock in my truck. 1) Which KA would you recommend or is there a difference between an Altima, frontier, 240sx? 2) If there is a superior model of the KA, how can I identify that I am purchasing the correct engine? 3) Other than engine, transmission, mounts, what additional parts do I need to purchase? 4) Where could I Purchase the engine? 5) Roughly, How much am I looking at spending on parts and complementary parts alone? Thank you in advanced!

Yes ill be attending! For now I might leave this stock and later buy a pre-smog year Datsun. Still haven't decided... For now, get it running and restored. I will be posting pictures with updates..

Yes, either him or a shop located next to ours. I own a body shop that is located in SoCal. Its located in an automotive plaza with other shops next to mine (SMOG, Mechanic, Transmissions, Electrical, Sound systems, carwash and all) I get the hookups!

So I took my Datsun with my mechanic and had him change anything he had to change and fix it right up (He is my uncle, 100% trust this guy). I've decided to restore everything original and slowly upgrade brakes, driveshaft etc.... Engine sounds great. Compression is where it needs to be and has original 90K Miles. I know that after 100,000 it would reset but this one has 90K miles according to the vehicle report!!!

I've already started working on the body of my 1979 and wouldn't want to sell it and buy a new one at this point. I just want to know which engines are legal to swap? Can I install a car engine into a truck and still be legal?

I have a $5,000-$7,000 budget. I can do all the body work and restoration. The only investment I would be making would be in the mechanical functions of the car.
