  1. Oh crap, did I read that in a flash. My bad.
  2. Hey Over, It if is an original Tach they are hard to come by and expensive to replace if it is dead. Early tachs are not serviceable if there is anything seriously wrong with them, as the parts are all mounted on the main unit. I wouldn't take it apart and risk screwing it up if it is partially working. Most guys ruin the needles and shaft trying to get the face off. Later tachs have a circuit board that can be replaced if they are dead, and if the shop can source another one to canibalize. There is a shop near me that specializes in Foreign tachs, and they will bench test it for free, and give you a repair estimate for free, but they are slower than snot, like getting a boat serviced. But you'd have to uninstall it, and pay shipping to get it to them. PM me if you're interested for their info. Seeker
  3. Sun Valley (Los Angeles area) CA Pick-a-Part They listed a 1974 Nissan B210 Available today.
  4. I've had that experience after driving 75 miles... it's a real bummer :poop: But after all it is very close to Xmas. And rain has been on & off recently, and you know hardly anybody in CA knows how to drive in the rain  And I notice a lot of So Cal guys don't have wipers??? I'm guessing they assume Cali will always provide sun on datto event days? Or maybe wipers are too hard to repair??? I don' get it either way  I also think that people who are considering going to the IE meet see posts in the thread that the organizer's aren't going. Since there isn't any mention someone else will be there...they assume it's basically off. It would also be highly helpful if the locals could post if they're going, or not. Then others would have an indication if anyone is attending. And you won't have pissed off guys who do show up like me, John, Dylan, and Wicked Jester who might not return otherwise.
  5. I know that's a spelling error... But it sounds so wrong
  6. Maybe it belongs to the Texas Holdem gambler Michael Mizrachi? His nickname is "The Grinder."
  7. If you haven't found one yet PM me. I think I still have one. Can look this weekend.
  8. Fucking Ted! You brought that big troll of yours and didn't stop to let him out to run on the trip down! His tongue was hanging out and he was looking funny at me all day. You'll need to tether him next time, I'm afraid he's going hump my leg or piss on someone's ride!
  9. Nice job on the lead-time notice there Mr. Big T (aka: twin brother to BanaHAMmuck.) I might see you there!
  10. Jose, I rearly enjoyed seeing everyone at the show, saw many seller friends and prev buyers updating me on the status of their rides. Talking with Tdaaj, what little time there was between sales was great. I don't know how he juggles that many conversations. He is a wealth of Information on parts, And ditto what Mr. Big Tanker said for sure. Although I think the root word in his post 67 is...ham. Hope you guys can make down again some time.
  11. B2Fresh, I've got a nice 75 B210 Nissan manual, but no tach. PM me if interested
  12. BananahamMunch! I heard you may come. Hopefully I'll see you there. Jose gives away instant coffee and sells Tacos later in the day, and sodas, but other than that no. And there is no food close by either without rolling down the freeway a good number of exits. It is held in the Park and Ride right of the freeway exit. Closest address I use for driving there is the park 1100 Eagle Vista Dr., Los Angeles, CA 90041 if you want to use google maps to survey the area.

  14. Raceways have always had a rough go surviving financially. I grew up at Riverside Raceway. As a boy we got to watch the racing events for free, as long as we we sold programs. One of the benefits of being a boy scout. Later when I was old enough to drive the local car clubs got to race competitively for only $ 10 per car. It was a real blast. But that raceway closed down. Orange County Speedway also closed down due to financial hardship along the I-5 near Irvine Meadows Ampitheater (now called something else,) Then they closed down Ontario Motorspeedway not long after the California Jam Concert Series. Raceways were expensive to rent because they needed liability insurance in case of a crash while racing, and they needed security to keep people from heading out onto the track and showing off during non-racing events. It will be sad to see Irwindale follow the sad trend.
  15. Sorry, didn't intend to sound like I was putting a damper on the event. Been there for the past 4-5 Bbq's. Just apologizing for backing out after looking forward to it all year. I grew up in Riverside with the extremely bad air quality of the 60''s 70''s when the sky always looked like fog on a daily basis. It is what motivated me to get my smog license before I turned 18. The smog was one of the biggest contributors to my breathing issues and forced me to move out of the I.E. Thanks to improved CA emissions regulations the I.E. air quality has improved tremdously and you can see the surrounding mountains of the valley once again. Kids are no longer kept inside during recess because of smog ,and outdoor bbq's are once again enjoyable. But when one of the largest fires in the area's history is still burning just miles away with a red zone 165 air quality the day before, it's too much of a risk for me to gamble on. I need to be able to breathe the rest of the week without relying on melds and machines. Glad everyone else was able to go, got there safely, and had a good time!
  16. Due to the Cajon fire, the Fontana air quality has been too unpredictable for my health. I'm sorry I can't be there and regret not being able to talk with George about his Datsun dealership experience.
  17. I'd be reeeely lucky to make it there by double 510 or 10:20 ! lmao
  18. Fire is still burning madly but toward the desert. But I-15 is currently open! Finally found a number to text a friend who lives on the Riverside side of Sierra Avenue, just down the hill from the park. He confirms Charlie's read on the wind. It is blowing the smoke away from the park. So far... so good!
  19. Keep an eye on the news, especially guys coming from the east. There is a huge fire currently burning at the base of El Cajon Pass that has the I-15 closed in both directions. 82,000 homes in surrounding communities have been evacuated. The last time that stretch of highway burned it filled the Inland Empire with smoke, ruining the air quality, making it hard to breathe, and making the sky look like armeggedon. The BBQ park is only 8-9 miles away the way the crow flies. No risk of park burning, but it could seriously affect the event depending on wind direction. Anyone living in Fontana, Berdoo, Colton area have any input?
  20. More good Good ideas to consider I like the idea of rose bowl or irwindale raceway if they are affordable and manageable. Big venues often want big rents/ins to make it worth their while, especially if they require their staff on gates or security. But if they had a smaller contained area it may work. A drive in is probably more contained and affordable, but ya gotta watch out for all the speaker posts, and they typically aren't flat, not so friendly for lowered cars with spoilers and air dams. I was hoping there might be a bigger park & ride someplace, possibly with some shade? County/ rural city/ parks/ fair grounds often have less rules. I went to a fishing swap meet one in a marina parking lot. Anybody got connections to a big commercial property? Closed dealership or commercial building with parking lot that is closed on weekends. Industrial Private property typically has less regs as long as you're off the street and public property. Keep em coming, the more ideas the better possibilities, I'm sure Jose is trying to think outside the box too.
  21. Thanks much for the education Flatcat, I always appreciate free knowledge. Unfortunately... I don't have the youthful ambition to pull it, schlep it home, and then stow it all on speculation. Live in Cali and can't afford to own property to store it until it sells...someday. And don't have the time, technology, and energy to sell it. Having a hard time selling the small stuff I have now on CL. And I gotta wait till Nov for the n local swap meet not til Nov. That's why I posted it here for my peops, and on the Wrecking Yard Report. So knowledgeable social media types like yourself can spread the word! Go forth young man and "spread the word" of Datsun salvation! So sayeth the the lard. (Yes, I'm fat too ;)
  22. The first s110 heater core and valve I pulled from a yard were prob orig. They were crusty and the tabs on the valve body are barely hanging on. Just last week another another 81' 200sx popped up at and Santa Fe Springs Pick a Part, sedan, blue interior, auto. (it is still there with motor, auto trans, suspension, and diff all intact, the gauge cluster bezel was beautiful, unscratched, no cracks, good color. Of course the big radio plastic dash cover was broken by someone who wanted the radio in a hurry. I hate that.) Last Sunday I got there when they opened to beat the heat and scored a beautiful heater core and valve. These parts must have been replaced by the dealer at some point. No corrosion on the core or valve, all the hose clamps are orig wire ones and all the cad plating is intact, its like new. The car was old and faded and pretty straight, but these part looked new. The valve is seized, but holds water pressure. Can't wait to take it apart and rebuild it. But the Yellowtail fish are biting off San Diego and I'm going this Friday, so the valve will have to wait. Don't want to work the valve while it's seized with calcium and rust corrosion for fear of scoring the plastic piston, shredding the rubbers, or insides of the brass valve. Will probably soak it in a light solution of CLR first while fishing. Some time before the end of fall I'll have a working 80 SX with the dash back in it, a working heater/defroster, and AC for the So Cal desert!
  23. ft aka tdaaj, PM BluebirdSSS. Tell him your traveling from Canby area and maybe he can give you more concrete details. I can vouch for how much stuff your bring and the rarity and quality. By the way... PM me if you have a nice 620 KC dome light and lens. I've got one but the base is cracked, and the lens is yellow.
