Never heard of that. The number is on the bottom of the head between #1 & 2 spark plug holes. It should be something like "W-53 or U67".

  5. All things are not equal. I have a 2.3 stroker that I am using a un-touched L-16 manifold on and I am make huge numbers down low(which was the plan).Depends where you want the power.
  6. Port velocity is the speed at which the charge moves thru the manifold & ports. The smaller the port the faster the speed. Think of sucking thru a small(diameter) straw vs. a big one.Unless you're cammed & ported for high RPM operation,a "big" manifold runner could hurt you more than help. And if you follow Mike's intructions, you'll be fine.
  7. On a L-18,you should be considering port velocity more than you are. Mike's advice is appropriate for your app.
  8. Mike-I' work for the railroad.I have no schedule.I'm on call 24/7/365.When the phone rings I go to work.
  9. The Collings Foundation just picked up the last surviving Tomahawk from Hickham Field.
  10. Should have postponed until you had your bill and could PROVE that you weren't talking on the phone. Mike-turn it off when driving? Sorta defeats the purpose of having a "mobile phone" now-doesn't it?
  11. We are losing these guys rapidly. It won't be long before the "greatest generation" is completely gone. Enjoy them & thank them while you can.
  12. I have crewed on the "909".I am one of the tour stop organizers in Tucson. Rob just bought the "Littlefield" collection."stop the tanks"?That's funny. It ain't gonna happen. Kilo-what Connie are you talking about? These were shot here APril of '13.
  13. A good gauge that has a 270 degree "sweep" so you can see even a few pounds of pressure.Should have left it at #2.You're timing will be a "bit off".
  14. Yes.I belong to the Collings Foundation-here is our inventory: http://www.collingsfoundation.org/cf_aircraft.htm
  15. 521 on a trailer with a washer & dryer in the bed at the Chevron/Jack in the box exit 252 off the 10 in Tucson yesterday.Truck was mint and the color of the goon at the top of this page.
  16. There's a code on the manifold.Something like E23.What is it?
  17. How about a really good gauge(270 degree) direct to the port and crank it-establish a baseline.
