Finally got my truck to run and noticed this. What the issue and is fixable?

You have a Welch plug that rotted from the inside out. Knock it out, then replace it with a brass one, and refill your coolant.

If you hammer a punch into one side of the old one, it should rotate, and then you can pull it out with pliers.

 

Put a little sealant around the edge of the new one, find a socket that fits on the inside, then hammer it in as straight as possible. That’s the easy side of the engine to get to…

Change them all for good measure. Likely the rest are similar.

I always clean out the holes with a wire cup brush on a die grinder, or even a drill. Installing a clean plug in a dirty hole will cause it to leak.

I drill a hole and had a sheet metal screw in case it went too far in. key is dont damage the round edge. There is also expandable screw in types Datsun is 40mm

find the correct one of these in a pinch
