San Jose engine parts kit rip off

Anyone else get a engine kit from a place in San Jose ?? I feel i got ripped off .. So the story is,  i needed some L motor parts , like timing chains , sprockets , valves ,, for a bulldozer project i got going...  I talked to a old dude at a car show and he says he might have something.. Ok fast forward to about a week and a half ago ,  and i get a call saying your shits in the mail..

 

Then this shows up !!  

 

 

  Box arrived with a fucking hole in it >> didn't hear the mail-gender-neutral-person drop it off because was listening to Dr Dre on 11 ,, but my guess would he threw the fucker down and beat checks like Usain god damn Bolt  . 

 

 

So take to garage , to check this shit out.

Oh hell no.... sprockets weren't even same size ,, it's almost like these were junk parts they had found laying around or some shit!!

 

 

Oh ,,,, and i guess these are what would be considered the "gasket kit"  ,, ok 

 

 

At least there looks like i got a thermostat housing gasket ,, mkay

Parts are to make next years Ratsun-Powerland trophy ,, i made one this year but there was a technical glitch so no-one got to vote on it .. Big John became enamored so he has it in safe keeping till next year.

Early smaller version , after showing my wife and sons ,, neighbors ,, passing middle aged adults on 20inch bicycles stealing peoples mail,,, i went with slightly bigger clamp. 

 

L motor chain shortened and gears

 

 

 

wifes hand holding for final clamp comparison.. 

 

ratchet straps are to be able to pull each side back and forth to adjust tension against table and you needed 4 as vice grip clamps just didn't give enough adjustment..

 

 

 

 

Wasn't sure if wanted clamp farther forward or not 

 

 

 

So then decided on larger size .

 

 

Undercarriage ,, like i said i wanted tracks to move 

 

 

 

 

added headlights 

 

 

 

 

 

Chain guide Blade fitment ,,, Block/plate  on rear axle is from 1970s stair stepper machine ,, haha

So anyways ,,,,,, HOPEFULLY ,, this is next years Ratsun Powerland trophy as i'm making another for Johnny Humpatree .. From San Jose

“Apparently” me and Juan-ear went down and looked at a guys car south of San Fran.. So that inflamed his insanity even more than it was about that little car ..

    In turn, my welding table has been covered with every damn kinda . 4X4.5 pattern hub we could dig up from out back . And a couple 6 luggers … Hell , There’s even a 67 Falcon 4 lug drum in that mix .
 

So im going with something easy like tractors this year..

So i took this pile of V8 Audi parts and miscellaneous other shit.

 

 

 

 

This rusty raggedy ass  push mower gas tank

 

 

this,, for some reason cut in half ,, rollbar. 

 

 

and part of an air injection tube from L20b 

 

 

 

and made a small steam tractor thing to give a Ratsun award.

was going to use alternator for wheels but changed mind after digging thru Juan-ears scrap pile. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Mock up with PVC pipe because way lighter 

 

 

 

That strip of metal on top was original bracket to hold tank/crab to engine.. i thought it being there would make welding halves together easier.. Honestly  i think it fucked me up more than helped anything. 

 

Air injection tube was exact same size as the 3/8th extension i used for rear axle 

 

 

 

 

not sure what these even were ,, maybe lift or lowering block starts?? 

 

Used for main body of tractor 

 

 picture shows my "attempt' at a coal box thing,, i got no better pic of it though 

 

 

 

Got these cool chains a Shipwreck beads ,,,  If you Notice,,  they are not just bent together , but permanently welded ,, really cool shit 

   Wanted to make chain steering that rotated ,,,  but how to accomplish such a thing,,  eluded the fuck out of me .

 

Fuck it ,, you don't know me ,, i do what i want.

 

 

welded inside then ground down so it fit on top of front axle 

 

 

 

Then put coal containers on rear  and a piston hooked to an brass freeze plug i had laying around,  and a pipe randomly placed to cover up rust holes in sheet metal ,, haha,,

 

And used bottom of gas tank for roof 

 

 

 

Added a VW tappet for smoke  stack 

 

The end of boiler was going to be rounded out,,, but it looked WAAAAY to much like a penis , lol 

 

 

 

The drive chains rotate around the fake output
