Sound system help

I have a 79 620 regular cab and I want to put a sound system in it, it currently has no sort of sound system in it. What are you guys running and what would I need for a complete sound system.

I did a stock radio converted to Bluetooth and 2 speakers. If I do it again I would add an amplifier with thin 10” sub

I've headed down the retro road.  Aussie company uses them and does his own knobs and face plates

This is mine, yet to install so cant talk on the quality of sound.  I think its 20w RMS or more.  Previous owner has put speakers behind seats I will be putting in kick panel speakers I have had lying around since my 510.

I did a retrosound unit as well. Rockford fosgate front and rear speakers, and JL 8" sub. In my other car, which was already cut for a single DIN radio, I did a kenwood headunit with rockford fosgates and a 10"sub.

 

Really up to you. If you want to keep it stock looking, retrosound. If you don't, just do whatever.

i've been using a kove audio commuter when my truck was on the road and will be returning to that until i get around to wiring in a retrosound unit. already got it mounted into a center console just not there yet

I just re did mine when I had the dash out to get re-done.

 

I did Kicker 5.25's in the panel with the tweeter at the leading edge of the dash.

NVX 125w Class D amp running the fronts under the seat.

CV 10" thin sub - fits behind the seat

Retrosound head unit with VW knobs and the AM sticker.

 

I get a lot of "holy shit...that sound was coming out of this??"

Sorry to hijack ...is there by chance a dimension layout for the kick panels? My ute didn't have them when it turned up so will make my own.  Not many around to copy from.
