Look for a roll pin going through the control lever at right angles to that pin. I think I see something there. I have one shown but not exactly where it goes or even if it goes through that pin. The screwdriver slot may be for turning the pin to line up the hole to hammer the roll pin in.

If there is one, use a suitable size drift or blunted nail and tap it out.

This is just a guess and I would be very surprised if it is.

Get yourself a roll pin punch, because it's hardened steel and not going to bend while tapping with a hammer.

Next, try some heat from a Mapp gas torch on the surrounding shifter base. Heat it, then squirt it with WD40 and give it a hit. If it doesn't budge, let it cool and try it again. It's likely that the pin is rusted into the larger pin.

Changing whole base a lot of work.

Not really.... something like 6 or 8 bolts... comes right off....

I dont believe there is anything that falls out when removed....

Might need a gasket or you can use gasket maker...

20 minutes or less and you are done...

Quick thing are you after the metal piece that attaches the shifter or the aluminum piece on the transmission?

I was just thinking if it's the metal part I believe I have that in my garage....

Someone bought the shifter I had but didn't want that piece....

If I can find it you can have it for the cost of shipping.... ill look when I get home..

If it's the aluminum piece you have to take the housing off anyway because the shift rod goes through it .

My friend thank you.   I got mine off.   And swapped.   I don’t know how to add photos to share with everyone

At the bottom of the response box is an option to add files....

If not you need a picture hosting site....

If the picture file is too big you may need to resize.. I cheat sometime and take a screenshot of my picture and I can get a small file size....
