280Dan
I’m probably going to catch flack for this but I went to index my torsion bars and forgot to mark beforehand. My question is if I have the torsion bar pulled out and I jack up the control arm to lower the ride height, how do I want to position the torsion bar when putting it back in? Higher or lower? I don’t know why but I’m having such a hard time comprehending this. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
When the anchor bolt is in place and tightened this will set a higher ride height When the anchor bolt is installed this will be a lower ride height. Quote Link to comment
280Dan
So if I jack up the control arm and put the bar in in the position of the second picture, that will allow for a lower ride height correct? Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Yes. It might be too low. You'll have to try and see. 1 Quote Link to comment
280Dan
So I’ve got the ride height dialed in. Now I have some positive camber in the front. More so on the passenger side vs drivers side. I’ll have to address that next but I’m happy with how it’s sitting for now Quote Link to comment
Wildcat Walker
Shim it in. The FSM gives a shim thickness to camber angle conversion. Do this before driving to avoid rapid tire wear. Quote Link to comment
banzai510(hainz)
I would buy wheels that tuck in but thats me, that fender going to cut that tire Make sure the upper link bushing are not worn out but this gives neg camber from what I notice if worn Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Make the wheels fit the vehicle not the other way round. But if determined, trim the fenders and put black flares on it. Quote Link to comment
280Dan
I got it dialed in with shims and I have a set of flares from pon retro that will be going on along with air bags at some point. I’m going start a build thread to keep everything in one place Quote Link to comment
Goemon
I came here to ask the question : Where is the factory setting ? I removed them thinking this info would be in my manual. I have them down like in the pic with enough thread to get one nut on.... Is this the factory setting? I am working with an Ebay seller for him to make a 620 grommet kit. A couple will fit the firewall I have one nut on the rods, I will have to add another pic later, it's night and about to rain AGAIN Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Try any position and see where the truck rides. If you can't adjust high enough ride height remove and turn and insert the rod again. Quote Link to comment
Stoffregen Motorsports
Adjusting camber means you'll also have to reset the toe. Quote Link to comment
