I need another vehicle like I need a hole in the head but I couldn't help myself especially with how clean it looked in the ad. Being only 30 miles away I had to check it out but I knew I would end up buying it. Nostalgic reasons and just cool factor alone forced my hand. I had a '79 in high school and it was unfortunately totaled by a run-away horse trailer (no horses were hurt in the making of that event, only hay bails and me). So when I saw this pop up, well, that was that. The gentleman I bought it from was a true Nissan fanatic and overall car guy. I love buying vehicles from enthusiasts and it just makes the whole experience that much better. This rig has a lot of recent work in the past like a rebuilt motor, suspension, brakes, hydraulics, etc. Good stuff. It drove those 30 miles better than expected except that it has a 4spd! My '79 had a 5spd so I will need to plan on a swap. Otherwise, very very solid. We plan to keep it as stock as possible and give it a nice paint job. I'm not a huge fun of the stock color so we'll see. The baby blue Datsun color (it's gray now) is just not my thing but there in comes the engine bay, cab, etc. to match. Ugh. Keep ya posted. I have the situation of no wife happy life so no justification necessary but I get it. The gentleman I bought from had several extra parts: hood, fenders, valence, etc. He's got a slider rear window I might also take but IDK, I'm a fan of the single piece. So I still need to make it back and obtain those but I think they are worth it just to have around with 2 620s in my possession. Hopefully this year I can utilize some of these parts. I've got some stuff I've collected over the years, not anywhere near what our true enthusiast members have, but I have an original tach, extra console, door cards, all the ac parts and attachments, a ka24, lsd rear, titan wheels, etc. etc. Good to have I suppose. Thankfully this little guy doesn't need much but a 5spd swap and some body love. Maybe a Weber. Quote Link to comment
