Vince B
Which engine type was the "N"L510? as opposed to the PL510 vin number? Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
?..... L13 JDM ony N.... L14 I think the very first or earliest '68 510s may have had the L14 in them. I think one of the guys on The 510 Realm has one. Maybe just in Canada? Not sold in the USA. P.... L16 H.... L18 JDM only L means left hand drive. No L simply means right hand drive. yenpit
Does your 510 have independent rear suspension (IRS) or a solid axle with leaf springs? All USA spec cars were IRS. Mike is correct.........the USA never got the L14 engine, all were L16. Canada I don't know? Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Early 510 are front drum here. My '68 Canadian sedan had rear amber turn signals too. Asking someone on the Realm. I know someone there has/had one. Don't remember how he got it. May be strictly JDM and it was an import car. I'll update when I know. 1 Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
OK. It was an L13 510. The very early 500-1000 first edition 510s to Canada came with L13 engines, three in the tree, front drum brakes like the 521 and front bench seats 1 Quote Link to comment

I don't think any 510's ever came here with 3 on the tree & pretty sure all were front disc! Quote Link to comment

datzenmike
That's my take on it as well. L13 with 3 speeds had a 4.375 differential. L14s were sold elsewhere in the world. 1 Quote Link to comment

(H-165 likely) I wonder if L14s?? I thought they were J15 in Mexico. My info only covers what was sold in Canada, US and protectorates. 1 Quote Link to comment
Trophy24
My Bluebird with VIN P510 was registered here in the states as a 1967 after we imported it from Japan. It was also a bench seat car with a L13 three on the tree and drum brakes. 1 Quote Link to comment
