DwayneOxford
Back on this leak. Removed blower box, want to remove glove box. Looks to be integral with dash. Gotta remove WHOLE dash to remove it? Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
It's one piece plastic. The inlet for the fan box is right above it. The outer edge inside the plenum is flared upward to keep rain out. There should be a drain to the outside of the plenum also. If blocked with leaves and pin needles the water will pond there and over flow into the fan box. 1 Quote Link to comment
DwayneOxford
Thanx Mike, bout ready to put a dam in and seal off the R cowl vent. Quote Link to comment

Suggestions on caulk tape? Suggestions on cleaning AC coil? Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
The air supply opening has a curled up lip into the cowl area to keep rain water out, but the right cowl vent must be clear to allow draining. It opens above and behind the tire forward of the top door hinge. Hard to see from the outside as there is a plastic splash guard. 2 Quote Link to comment
Draker
This is common. Check for debris under the cowl. Second check for rust holes. Back when I had my 720, I had rust holes. I cleaned it up and put some sealer on them. 1 Quote Link to comment

DwayneOxford
Sprayed water where tarp is off, none came to inside. Gonna let it rain like it is and see what happens. 1 Quote Link to comment

Got 2 gallon oil jug blocked up tight under heater. It seems to catch most of it. Has rusty streaks behind under heater.. Not seeing how to include pic. Finally solved this prob. Was leaking around the deflector?? protrusion that keeps cowl vent water from entering heater intake. Had to rain REALLY hard for it to leak. Was the only place left that it could be so I went around it with a liberal bead of this fine stuff I been using MANY years. Made in next county East. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Clean out the cowl drains on either side. If even partly blocked the water will back up or drain too slowly and can and will tip into the heater duct. There is a small lip of metal around it but it isn't much. 1 Quote Link to comment

Was leaking under the snout?? flange. Don't know what if anything factory gaskets it with. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Well an RTV dam around it is best then. There is a foam gasket on the top of the fan assembly that seals it to the underside of the plenum. Quote Link to comment
