SHADY280
naw i got 3 of those!!! the one in the street car is lightened to 19 lbs, helped, but not enough. it was also balanced to get it really perfect. itll prolly go in the 620 if i get another al flywheel. Quote Link to comment
72240z
Ya I think the stocker is going in my next scrap run lol, shipping that thing is close to more then its worth. Quote Link to comment
SHADY280
i put the one i have now in the for sale section, how can i tell if its truely 200mm???? due to the 225 disc fitting i dunno, im not gonna buy a clutch to find out. although the 620 could use it, i just have a dual friction clutch for the racecar, and 80% left in my dd centerforce. 72240z
I use the disk method myself to be sure and thats why I always provide a pic with a ruler sitting on top in inches and mm. Quote Link to comment
SHADY280
yeah thats whats odd about this one, it can fit the 225 mm disc, i took pix and will post later, its just that dang taper around the outside. Quote Link to comment

SHADY280
yeah i kinda could use 2 of them. take your time getting it out, no real hurry for either of them. i just wanna know what flywheel i got now, any guesses???? Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Measure across the width of the clutch disc. For Datsun it's either 200mm, 225mm, or 240mm. You may have the PP for the next size up. I think some 280's were 240mm but most were 225mm. Measure it!!!!!! Why guess???? Edited December 7, 2008 by datzenmike Quote Link to comment
SHADY280
i did the disc area is 225, but the 225 pp, that i have 3 of (def know that from n/a z car from 79-83) doesnt fit, so what does? its in the pix assembled and all. Quote Link to comment
DAW
I'm a little lost by this thread, but one thing you need to know here is that the 240mm PP (used in 280ZXT, and 280Z/ZX 2+2) has 3 bolts between the dowels; while the 225mm PP only has 2. Most aftermarket flywheels are dilled for both patterns so that you can mount either size PP on them. DAW Quote Link to comment
DAW
The iron flywheel/PP you have pictured is a 225mm with 2 holes between dowels. If you were to move the dowels into the alternate holes in the aluminum flywheel would it give you a usable (9 hold-down bolt) pattern (for a 240mm PP)? DAW Quote Link to comment
SHADY280
its diameter were worried about here, not pin placement. the diameter for the pp is too small the aluminum one has lots of places for pins. Quote Link to comment
