1980 Datsun 720 - Air Conditioning

Any one have suggestions on how to revive this? Mine is currently dead... mostly... It only blows out air on the highest setting and always hot ... never not hot... Any help is appreciated.

Is it factory or is it a dealer add on?  Pictures will help Identify.  I have owned 11 1980 720s and only 2 had factory AC both were 2wd king cabs, the other 9 were aftermarket.

I will be paying attention to this project because that is the next item on my agenda. Mine is an 86 factory system. I have purchased what purports to be an o-ring kit for it. When time permits I will be replacing all the o-ring seals and refrigerant and try to get it working.

The first truck factory installed optional air conditioning was the '79 620 so your '80 would or could have come from the factory with it. Possibly it could have been put on by the dealler but why not just order it with it on? Last it could have been a custom install done at any time. The thing is it doesn't matter much, just take to a reputable place that services auto air conditioning. May have a leak and the refrigerant is gone, may just need recharging... who knows?

Easiest way to tell is there hose clamps on the AC hoses, if yes it is aftermarket.
