CharlieMurphy
I have bought 2 different sets of headlights and they are not fitting. Has anyone else had this problem? The headlight itself is too big for the metal trim piece. If anyone has any info or idea of what I can do to make this work I would greatly appreciate it. 1 Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Maybe a cheaply made Chinese set? They are held on with 4? set screws. Would cutting the trim into two pieces help it fit? 1 Quote Link to comment
CharlieMurphy
That's what worries me is, if I cut it then will it be strong enough to support the weight of the light or would it bend? 1 Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
I thought about it some more and probably won't work. Got pictures? 1 Quote Link to comment
weldingrod
When you ask for rectangular headlights most parts places automatically give you the larger ones. Try measuring the old headlights and make sure you specify the dimension when you ask for them. Might also help to find a different auto parts supplier if that is the kind of service you are receiving. 1 Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
These are the 4 smaller rectangular ones right? 1 Quote Link to comment
Charlie69
The correct headlights are: Low Beam: WAGNER H4656 High Beam: WAGNER H4651 I am running these in my 86 720 King Cab for the last 6 years. Original headlights are Halogen. Quote Link to comment
CharlieMurphy
Yes, my original halogens are 1/4 inch smaller. The only real plug and play ones that fit were the LED lights. I have ordered the lights from EBay and CARID. Both lights are exactly the same. I bought a brand new housing to replace when I’m done cutting everything up. I’ll post pics today. 1 Quote Link to comment
