Diego Zuniga
Ok I love my 521 and have put so much time and money into it the last few months. I am just really getting frustrated with electric issues. I fix one issue and two more pop up. Now my turn signals stop working. They were fine and now just stop. All the running lights work, hazards work, when you turn on turn signals nothing happens, no dash light comes on the lights on the outside lights do nothing. I read on here to switch relays but don't know where the relays are on a 521. Any other ideas? I am also willing to pay someone to resolve these issues I HATE electrical work! I am located in Sacramento California Quote Link to comment
DanielC
The turn signal electricity goes through the hazard light switch. Hazards on, turn signal electricity switched off. Hazards off, turn signal electricity switched on. Try working the hazard switch off and on several times. Make sure it is fully in the hazard off position. Never trust a glass tube fuse that looks good. You must check for voltage going though the fuse, with the circuit on. There are no relays in the turn signal circuit, or in the hazard light circuit, only flashers. There are two of these flashers under the dash, by the right side of the steering column. One flasher is for the turn signal, the other is for the hazards. One of the wires for the hazard flasher will always be hot. One of the wires on the turn signal flasher is only hot with the key on. Try switching the flashers to see if the turn signals then work and the hazards stop working. 1 Quote Link to comment
banzai510(hainz)
I always check the fuse box. fuses. I also run a alternator volt meter(Amazon and else where) in my cig lighter just to make sure I know Im charging and what voltage. the idiot light on the dash is not a realible soarce to know your charging. Diego Zuniga
I checked the flashers they are both good. There is no power going to the turn signal flasher when the key is on.where would be the next place to check? Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Turn your ignition switch on but don't start it. Do your IGN and OIL lights come on and does the gas gauge read???? No...... these do NOT light up...... the fuse is blown Yes..... these do light up...... your 4 way emergency switch is at fault. In the OFF position power is routed through the 4 way switch to the turn flasher. If the turn flasher unit is without power and the fuse is not blown then the 4 way switch is the cause. Try turning the 4 ways on and off several times to clean the contacts. If nothing, turn the key and the turn signal on and move the 4 way switch on and off slowly to try and find a position where the signals start working. The 720 4 way switch is notorious for this problem. Quote Link to comment
